I honestly thought that was leading to "it's so much fun !" :<
The only thing I dislike about DRG atm is having to refresh CT ahead of time.
I love it. It adds a certain complexity to the job. Let's face it, the old rotation was something you could do in your sleep. This one forces you to think and react. And personally, I am always in favor of a mechanic that widens the gap a little between the good and the bad players.
Content too hard? Too much rng? Too much effort for the item you want?
I used to not like and dread the talk of its randomness when I was approaching 58 but after a few days doing primals and dungeons you will get used to it and its not really bad since missing one is not that bad when up keeping botd is more important.
I don't think giving players something to react to is necessarily a bad thing. I'm not all for it since I do like to plan ahead which this prevents (you need to react on the spot instead), but it's not objectively a bad thing. What really bothers me is that they're the exact same ability. No diversity, no creativity, just [nearly] the exact same thing with different positionals. But hey, at least they both look cool![]()
Honestly it grows on you pretty quickly. You end up having more time than you'd expect to position yourself if for no other reason than it procs as you use your combo finisher and those finishers have pretty decently long animations I find. Might just be an illusion due to familiarity but honestly it ends up not being that big a deal unless the mob spins like a top.
There's nothing remotely involved in "thinking ahead" with the random procs. You should already be sitting at the rear near a flank anyway. It's just a matter of whether or not you need to move once one of them procs which is the opposite of thinking ahead: that's a reaction.
I only have DRG at 50 for now but I've been thinking with this one- as long as you're near the section of the boss's hitbox where it changes from side to rear, you would only have to move slightly to swap between side and rear right? That's where I'm used to playing for the sake of meeting side/back positional requirements.
You do need to think ahead since you need to be ready to react to whichever you get.
I can't hear the drg complains anymore. I'm happy it's no more "stay braindead behind and replay your rotation". You can't expect to be one of the best dps class and doin nothing for it (yes, 2.x drg was like doin nothing for the amount of dps is was able to dish out). And there is more than enough time to repositioning after the proc if you stay between the it's flank and rear. Now you have to do something for your high dps, deal with it.
