Thavnairian Bustier - evidence that SE adores Gil sellers.

Hey Square Enix, please give us ordinary players a break wiil you? You creat items such as the Thavnairian Busier, probably one of the best looking pieces in the game and an obviously desirable item, but put them behind a mountain of crap so high that the vast majority of players haven't a hope in hell of getting it. A 1 star level 60 craftable for a vanity item, no doubt with a short list of near impossible to get materials... I guess I could go buy one, except I dont have the 18 million gil it needs.

Honestly, I think you hate normal players. Things like this are not attainable, just like the stupidly rare swimsuits that came before. All they do is fill the pockets of already very rich crafters with gil that has to come from somewhere. Personally, 18 million is a bit out of my range. The thing is it's out of almost everyone's range, which makes me think that you might in fact be prompting players to buy gil. Why else create things that people will want, but be unable to get, unless they decide to buy a dress instead of a house, or drop somehard currencyto buy gil.

I loathe and despise cheating, gil sellers and all manner of RMT. But here you are, Square Enix, almost literally creating a market for gil sellers. WHY? Do you adore those leeches that much?

P.S. Why do you hate normal players so much?

Well, someone HAS to craft it right? If that's the case, why not you?

You could go level a crafter/gatherer, look up ways to gather up the materials (XIVDB tends to be good for this), and research crafting rotations and requirements, then try and make them yourself. It isn't really much different from the Spring Dress back in the days of 2.2 or so.

What you lose in the massive time sink, you make up for by not having to pay a single cent of gil. No idea what crafting services are like on your server as well, but depending on how expensive the materials are you could also probably commission a crafter on your server to make you a set.

I do want it too myself, but seeing as I'm not willing to level crafters yet, I am willing to wait until I can...

Well, crafted gear won't be bis anymore (apparently). So that statement says the opposite. I saw that those items you're talking about are expensive, but hadn't looked into it, and was hoping the prices would come down.

I'm unhappy about how hard is it to get Thavnairian items too. I guess SE wants those items to be super rare so that not everyone wears them, because they look so good that everyone would wear them if they were affordable. I think they want them to be exclusive glamour items

So... if you don't have the money to buy it, why not level Weaving and make it yourself?

The reason outfits like the Thavanarian Bustier and the Spring Dress before it in ARR are so hard to make is precisely because they are very well designed. This is an MMO afterall. They need to have rare and hard to accomplish tasks. You're not simply "entitled" to having everything easy.

And making lame accusations and conspiracy theories that SE likes RMT is frankly pathetic. SE is among the best companies at actually banning RMT related accounts.

If you don't have the gil or don't want to do something in game to earn the gil, then level weaving and gather the mats yourself. The money people charge is for all those hours of work. If you don't want to put in the work, then fork up the money. Money or time... that's how the world works.

That being said, wait a month or two. The prices will drop significantly once there are more crafters at 60 and the undercutting begins and supply becomes higher.

There's a difference between working for something (that actually helps you in some way, like gear/relic) and stuff being stupidly overpriced that does nothing for you

Wow just wow, SE puts in an item that takes a little time and work to get and some people lose it. Listen SE doesn't support RMT just because an item is out of your reach that is just ridiculous way of thinking. If money is a problem go level a gatherer or a crafter and start selling stuff. Go play the market board go do something just don't sit there and complain that you cannot afford something. I am not 100% sure on all the mats but the big seller mat for that item is the silk which I believe comes from 2 of the new treasure maps in game. I am not sure on all the routes of getting those mats but I know botanist, miner, and I believe fisher can get those maps from they're respective nodes for gathering. So go farm for it, just don't complain about not having the money to buy it if you haven't done a single thing in order to get it well other then complain because that rarely works.

Also one more thing in MMO's sometimes the vanity items like for example this dress or w/e you want are actually harder to get then some of the actual end game gear FFXIV isn't the only MMO that does this with vanity items.

They'll likely drop in price as more people gain the ability to craft them and more competition enters the market and demand drops as people who REALLY wanted them already paid their 18 million gil or whatever.
