Ned help choosing a main....race!

Generally in a game with a lot of options for race, class and crafting, I tend to make several characters and spread the crafting among them, while I decide which class I like best. I can do that with this game due to not being able to trade among characters, and any character can eventually become all jobs. That means I am left to finding the one race I like best and then deciding which job I like best.

While I may like the looks of a race for certain reasons, there is usually something that keeps me from choosing it as my main character. For instance, I don't see Lalafells and Miqo'tes wearing plate armor. It just goes against my views on those races. I do tend to like the small cutsie race though like the Asura out of GW2 and I have always liked catgirls though really small races like the Lalas tend to not look good in most outfits. I like the idea of the ninja and monk class, so it would seem that the Miqo'te would be a shoo in, unless I find out that I don't like the jobs.

I could go with the Hyur as they look good for any job. Right now I am playing a Au Ra Xaela as a lancer, since the horns make the armor look more badass, at least when I get that armor.

I thought I would post the race creations that I have made and saved and see which ones people liked best. Also if anyone had any tips for making them look better would be useful. Kind of a like playing a game of, "that look fits a certain job better than any of them" game.

I am looking at trying a ninja or monk with the possibility of paladin and one or more of the caster classes though I am not too sure how hard it is once you run low/out of quests to level additional jobs.

Any suggestions?

This is my Midlander. She looks kind of regal

This is the first Highlander. She looks more Celtish and looks good as a Warrior/Marauder

This is the second one with a more generic look.

This is the Keeper of the Moon.

How do I make it like a clickie that shows the full pictures?

This is the first Seeker of the Sun. I was not sure which look I wanted, though I also looked at the main hair color being the highlight color.

I am leaning more towards this look.

This is as cute as I could make her.

How can I resist this face?

My Raen Au Ra. I like the horns better and since they sleep on their backs works better than horns backwards though that face is a little better looking.

This is the Xaela I leveled up to be able to post on the forums. Stupid rule!
I wanted the hair to be a brighter red with lavender highlights.

And finally why I choose to level her up as a Lancer.

Ok well I'm super biased for Mooncats because they're better than suncats I like the lore more, however... your two Seekers are very cute. I like them a lot (personally not a fan of the blueberry cats but hey, whatever).

Um. When I created my character I knew I was going to be archer/bard and I knew I was going to choose male Keeper. I actually get mistaken a lot for a Seeker because no one seems to realize you can have dark brown skin on a Keeper..haha. I'm also not a fan of plate armor.. I think only my PLD wears anything like that? Yeah.

My favorite is the second Seeker (yellow facepaint version). My second fav is the one you have now, the Xaela. I'd say go for either those ones.

I really like your Seeker with the gold accents. It's unique, whereas the others are all pretty meh. Au Ra look good in everything, though. I just abhor Face 4.

Yeah, but face 4 is the only one with horns I like. Face 1 is going to need a crowbar to free them from the bed since they sleep on their back!
I made a Seeker pugilist to go for ninja/monk or maybe even bard. I got a lore appropriate name of K'nami Kode.

I am still looking for other suggestions, just in case! I know I will create another character to see the beginning Limsa Lominsa story.

I personaly like your Xaela (but i like the Raen hair better) and a Seeker with yellow accents.
As for not liking plate armor - as soon as you get one class to 50 you can glamour your plates into some vanity gear that has no class restriction.

I have finally made it through the beginning story for all three cities with three characters. I now have to choose which one I want to move forward with.
They are:
Chanterelle Maioranna, Midlander (see pic #1 above) - Started as arcanist to be in Limsa and trying out the other caster classes. This is one I can see as being every class/job for the most part.
K'nami Kode, Seeker of the Sun (Pic #6 above) - Started as pugilist for U'ldah and now going into rogue for ninja. I don't see her as any plate wearing or heavy weapon wielding class/job. Rogue is fun so far.
Chakha Kha, Xaela (pic #10 above) - Started as lancer for Gridania and was planning for Dragoon, though would probably look good as anything. The Raen might look even better for some jobs though. May need to change the hairstyle for both.

I think all three are 18 in their first class, should I keep going until I get my mount before doing a second class?
