Level 50 leves?

Where do I go for level 50 leves/grandcompany leves. I tried googling this question but the best I found were leves at lvl 45.

You get level 50 leves in ishgard not far from the tele crystal.

Can I go there if I haven't finished the main story quest?

No, you have to finish the MSQ to 2.55 patch, which can be a drag. Don't try to marathon this or you could hate the game. Just do 3-4 hours at most a day should be plenty, and you can finish in maybe 4-5 days at most. Do farm poetic tomestone in between the MSQ because the gears will last you till level 54-55, and you can be ahead in 3.0.

If you only have Poetics (120) you will replace them by Lv 52 with quested 125 HQ gear. Since the main story quests now award 110 gear, there's no need to farm Poetics unless you don't have access to those main story quests. Then the quests in the first leveling zones in Ishgard will start awarding 115 HQ gear (req. Lv 50), so there's a smooth progression already.

Poetics is better used to buy accessories for your second and third jobs, since they may not have access to a full set of quest gear, depending on what jobs you play.

Statwise, these poetic is far better, and its good to have for till level 53-54. You replace them on the level 53 dungeons drop.
