Crafters have no right to get their own Chocobos

All it is is local leves from Grand Company NPCs instead of the Adventure Guild and Seals instead of Marks. They don't have to be all that complex and all that many. I don't understand why they couldn't do that without delaying anything.

Having answered that. Try going to someone who is the same sex as you, but answers this question differently then you, o se it your way, or vice versa. Now you two stay there untill you convince the other your ways is "right" and "better" and/or he convinces you of the same thing. Its not going to happen, nor will you be able to understand. That's right, I don't think they can because if they could have, I think they would have. Maybe it's harder than it seems. Maybe they hadn't thought of it and it's too late to implement in the timetable they've established. Maybe it IS going to be there and there's no specific declaration as such. After all, there is the mention of "Implementation of supply and replenishment objectives" for patch 1.19 under "Grand Companies". I don't see why the reward couldn't be Grand Company seals or why crafters couldn't be involved. (Check the 16th Letter from the Producer if you want to see for yourself)

What I don't believe is that they're deliberately shutting pure gatherers and crafters from getting a chocobo on purpose, or that the dev team is not working it's butt off to please as many people as possible. Whatever they've got on the table, I'm ready to see it. At the least I can rent a chocobo if I want and with people turning their gear into materia I might be able to sell some in the markets. Things are looking up for me no matter how I think of it.

Basically, I agree that non combat classes should be able to earn a chocobo on their own, but I think it's too early to complain that it can't be done. Perhaps we can start this over again in a week or so if we find out your suspicion is on the money and there's no note to the effect that the issue will be addressed.

A biological inclination is vastly different from tastes in a game traditionally concentrated on battle tactics as a means to progress.

And as I've said, I'm not against it at all. I'm just curious as to why someone would play it just for that, especially considering the series and genre history.

I played xi and the only reason I leveled bst was for fast farming of stuff that I couldn't buy easily. Only got to 60 before I maxed all crafting skills. I thought it was neat to be decked out in all hq gear or I had tons of money to buy whatever I wanted. I knew some max rank crafters in xi with max jobs below 30 that weren't alts. For me it was like wasting tons of money for college to make more money. This game I got 3 mil just doing leves without selling an item to another player. I wouldn't have a battle class above 20 if my son didn't want me to go out and fight things and do behest. Thank goodness I did, as crafters are considered secondary classes now.

Having to travel to all the camps to turn in leves would greatly help if crafters had chocobos.

It's a matter of what an individual enjoys being or doing. Non combat jobs might appeal to people who don't like being under pressure but do enjoy contributing to the success of a group. Another person might want to "beat the system" by figuring out how to make the most money. Maybe they get tremendous joy from having lots of gil and being the rich guy in town. I doubt either of these cases is particularly common, but surely some people would. I personally find gathering a pretty leisurely way to play and comfortably chat. Hanging out with pals and tossing them ores when they need 'em isn't a bad way to pass time in Eorzea.

I gotta say out of my 7 years mmorpg experience, FFXIV (I have not play FFXI) is the game that have a decent craft system and taste in it and not press a button and go afk, and I am sure most of the craft agree with me about this
