Crafters have no right to get their own Chocobos

The general feeling seems to be "Because the dev team was busy with other things and haven't gotten around to it yet. If you wait it out a bit longer, you can get a chocobo without leveling a battle class, just be patient."

That is pretty much it. The dev team are trying to rebuild the entire game, not just bits and pieces, they can't be expected to do everything to everyone's liking in just a single (rather large) patch that's coming out 3 months after the last one. It's just going to have to take some time, patience and understanding from the players whilst they rebuild it all. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Then, why Final Fantasy XIV has no basic chocobo that I can have on my own?

It will, they are rental chocobos, which will be usable from rank 10+ by anyone, both battle and crafter alike. That is the basic chocobo content.
