Yoshida keeps saying things like "Play your way" and "Appeal to a broader audience" but then he keeps throwing in more and more restrictions that will in no way serve those purposes.
I never said it shouldn't have crafting, what I AM saying is why bother playing the game at all if crafting is ALL you're going to do? Once the game becomes pay2play will these crafter-only people continue to pay money each month just to hang around in ul'dah/gridania/limsa each and every day just making stuff, and only leave the walls of the city to do some gathering or hand in leves? Why pay money for a game if your intention with it is to only ever see a very small fraction of the games contents?

You don't buy a movie then satisfy yourself by only watching the opening title, you watch the whole thing, otherwise you just wasted your money.

And they're complaining about something like this when it only takes a few hours to get to rank 25 in the first place. Is it really such a big deal just to equip a sword or a wand and spend a bit of time killing stuff? In fact why not do this: Find the enemies that drop materials you want most for your crafting, then kill those enemies to reach rank 25, then you get more materials for yourself AND the rank you need for a chocobo, win-win situation. Just seriously stop complaining just because you're too damned lazy to spend a few hours ranking up a battle class, geez!
