DoL exclusive players gain exclusive access to Materia catalysts, supplying crafters for a tidy profit.

Well, at least there is someone here that gets it. Some people take me way too seriously. Was nearly mocking those who want access to all content no matter what or how much time they spend in certain classes. The primary focus of this game is that you experience a bit of everything.

So I will say again:

How about we all stop arguing and whining and find a productive solution? I submit that that solution would be to simply get over it and level a battle class to 25. Is it fair? Maybe, maybe not. Is it what you're going to have to do to get a Personal Chocobo for the time being? Yes. All this time and energy spent raging and whining about it could have been spent leveling a battle class to 25 and chances are you'd be done by now.

I did mention that Hand and Gathering Classes should get quests from Grand Companies in cohere with the caravan escort quests. It would make sense if those quests were tied together. Story-wise.

ok if both are equal then where does a straight crafter go to bribe a dow to get them their personal chocobo? you point out that a battle class can bribe a crafter to make the materia for them is equal so i am just curious because i haven't seen anything about crafters could get a chocobo by paying a battle class for them.

that's like saying dow cannot equip or use their gear unless their craft rank is high enough to repair it or that battle classes cannot use gear with materia attacked unless they are high enough rank to attach it themselves.

do you see the flaw in your own argument? one way you can still get what you want without leveling another class you do not like, but the other way you cannot.

I could argue that I needed to level a gathering class I did not want to level to amass that gil so in turn I could be able to bribe that crafter. So it can go both ways at the end.

I can buy gear with gil. I can get materia attached to my gear with gil. I can get people to repair my gear with gil. I do not get to experience the convenience of doing these things myself when and how I want, without paying someone else, unless I rank up a crafting class.

You can ride a rental chocobo with gil. You do not get to experience the convenience of having a faster and much more flexible battle chocobo issued by a Grand Company unless you rank up a battle class and join said company.

Well lets see, you could perhaps bribe a battlecraft to powerlevel you in copperbell till rank 25. Which in all honesty would be pretty fast considering current game mechanics. BAM, you have a permanent solution, while DOW/M will still have to endlessly bribe crafters for materia content, if they dont want to rank up DoH.

Perhaps in the not too distant future, Crafters/Gatherers will get to own a Pack-Chocobo that will walk alongside them, carrying another 200 slots of gears/materials and they will be the only Chocobos allowed in cities. (and your choco will kick the snot out of monsters in the field)

I would level up a DoH/L to 25 to get that even though I hate crafting. (I do like mining though).

Lets look at this another, more reasonable way.

In order to get your own personal chocobo, you must earn and trade in at least 3000 seals.. Period.

If you want seals, you will figure out a way to get them. Currently that means you need to complete specific quests. I'm sure other means will become available, but at this stage you must figure out what to do to earn those seals.

If you do not want to complete these specific quests, you need to either wait for new content, or ask SE for another handout.
