    Queue Times

Obviously, queue times have been impacted by the expansion as everyone is focused on the content. But even before its release, queues were pretty bad. I'm curious what queue times other folks are getting.

Currently, my queue time on Exodus as Twin Adder is ranging between two to two and half hours (currently waiting for a queue that just ticked over 126 mins). Prior to expansion, usually between 40 mins to an hour.

I'm curious how these matches are put together. Obviously, the GC restrictions play a role, however I find it hard to believe it takes an hour (or longer) to find 72 folks in a game where thousands are playing.

I see other posts about improving pvp, including queue times, but most are pretty old. What say you?

The problem (excluding lack of people queueing because of HW leveling) is not that there aren't 72 people interested in FL at the same time exactly, so much as there not being 24 Adders, 24 Maelstroms, and 24 Flames queued up at same time. There could be 100 people sitting in DF for an hour and if only 15 of them are from Flames, sucks for everyone because they all have to wait. That's how bad GC restriction is. Perhaps in that situation it wil pop a 24 person instance... which leaves the rest out in the cold since in that case there's only enough from all GC's for one 24 person instance. That's why the GC restriction is such a horrible thing, and why it shows complete lack of consideration for the desire of players to actually... what's the word I'm looking for... oh, I know, play the game.

Before expansion i had around 20 minutes to get into a frontlines game as maelstrom. Usually the queues were better than DPS dungeon queues. Adders are the bottle neck at our data centre. A friend of mine is at adders and they mostly only wait for a few minutes at max to get it.

Before expansion maybe i waited 120minutes sometimes to do one only match, after expansion i can't enter in no one match, im waiting three hours today and nothing. If problem is GC restriction why the hell SE don't remove this nonsense premise?¿

The problem here lies more in the imbalance of people in different gcs in different battle groups. If your wait times are that long and you really want to PvP, you might consider changing grand companies. At 60 and with supply and provisioning missions you can rank up pretty fast and you maintain you rank after that. Maybe an NPC somewhere in the game that can tell you which gc needs PvPers could help alleviate this problem a bit.

pvp queues will not improve til new Frontlines get implemented which will be in 2 weeks from this upcoming Tuesday. No one is going to pvp now due to the fact it doesn't give tomes of law- only poetics which can be obtained in so many other and easier ways.

yea OP i want to pvp too but it won't happen at this point cuz of community interest.

Same with me. Twin Adders in Exodus been trying Frontline Roulette the past few days queue times are like 2 - 3 hours and sometimes maybe more because some days I just never get in even waiting 4 hours+. I only do Frontline Roulette for the bonus once a day but that's not even happening on some days. This is in the middle of the day btw that the queue times are so bad in.

Yes, PvP has taken a serious hit by the expansion. As expected. The fact that SE made no new PvP content on the expansion shows where the priorities will lie in the future as well. Not in PvP.

I'm baffled why they even bothered releasing PvP for this game. The single most important aspect with any game is being able to play it. Here FFxiv fails at a fundamental level, in regards of PvP that is. What the hell are they thinking? It's like they're dangling candy in front of PvP players: "You want this, you want this?" Then, just as the player is about to grab it, SE pulls it away: "Awww, too bad you can't have it."

But I guess I'll wait for the new PvP content to see if it's worth playing this game further. Sadly I do not have high expectations as GC restriction are said to be maintained.Too bad 'cause PvP is actually genuinely fun most(ish) of the time. imo.

Perhaps I'm being a bit too harsh. The new lvl cap would hinder any high lvl PvP from the get go; not including new maps makes sense. Still, they could've done something to not completely undermind PvP on expansion release. Daily law tome drop would be the most obvious answer to keep PvP alive, even at expansion launch. Right now it's 99.99% dead.
