    All SE needs do with Dreadwyrm Trance is add Bahamut Wings and Claws to the player character model during the animation otherwise Summoner is an a good spot now with Evoking the power of an Elder Priml this reminds me of Final Fantasy III where they can summon a Black or White effect.

    True, they did fix issues but the implementation was just backwards. We need a minor single target nuke for adds and got Deathflare, while good still takes time to build up. Painflare is nice but Bane is always going to trump it except on very weak trash mobs. Ifrit buff was very nice, too nice because we are back to one pet ruling them all. The only reason to use Garuda now is Contagion so you can use two Painflares. We didn't get a new pet nor any new DoTs. We didn't even get the glamour right off the bat. I still feel Dreadwyrm Trance would have been better serve to make a temporary Bahamut Egi pet. At the very least the graphic should have been something like Blue Dragon instead of the Bahamut bust we see in everyones house.

    just remembered, doesnt smn quest at lvl 50 after enkindle says you cant summon new one? then it fits in the lore perfectly. @_@?

    I'm actually okay with how summoner turned out in heavensward thus far, even if it is the complete opposite of what most feedback was asking for. My only gripe is as always, egi graphics and no getting any new egi, which I feel was bullshit.

    I'm gonna give them time on that. But if we never see any new pets, or at least the glamour system they vaguely mentioned "considering", I doubt I'll stick around ffxiv much longer. Don't have much respect for a develo0er that completely ignores their customers.

    ^^ Most feedback before the buff was overwhelmingly asking for the job to focus more on the pet aspect. You know, summoners - > summons - > pet management - > increased pet interaction, ect... The opposite is what occured.

    It feels like we're Marksmanship Hunters from WoW, where the pet is simply something that adds to our DPS a little bit aaaaaaaaaaand that's it.

    I don't mind it, but i did wish our summons meant a bit more. Also, a lot have mentioned it including myself, but please....Dreadwyrm Trance, it visually sucks.

    Pets account for 30% of your overall dps. If you wanted to make that number shoot even higher, up to you 50%, then they would have to make pet management much more difficult so that players cant just turn on their pet and do half of their damage automatically.

    The way it is right now we already get a lot of damage for how little we have to manage them and its silly to want more for the sake of sticking to past Summoner conventions. This isn't FF11, this is FF14 and a lot of people are satisfied with what we have currently and suggesting random changes just because they sound cool disregards those people.

    I don't know why people keep saying we want summons like final fantasy 11. I mean lets look at other games then

    Aion has cool summons that evolve and get grander as you become a better spirit master, Lineage II has amazing looking summons that serve a use and look cool doing it, Blade & Soul has only one summon that is visually amazing to watch attack things and work with you. Heck black desert has a shadow wolf that rips things a part and looks menacing and awesome looking and you can even draw the wolf into yourself and go berserk on monsters. All these games can produce visually appealing pets in an mmo space and keep them fun and needed.

    So every other game can create and produce visually appealing and effective summons and this game can't? Yeah...

    I'd be okay if the current SMN became Necromancer with a focus on DoTs, plagues, and changed the pets to become spirits, skeletons, zombies, and other horrors. I'd be perfectly fine with that. Then implement SMN as a new job with an actual focus on real summoning.

    Or give us Puppetmaster for a big focus on the pet.

    Or give us Beastmaster again for that nice axe-and-claw action.

    SMN is a fine enough job as it is, but it doesn't feel like a summoner at all. For example, Ifrit has his own summoning action icon. Garuda and Titan are just Carbuncle since they just made the old spells summon the egis. You can tell how little they actually care.
