This is why, before I got burned to the stake suggested that you should make yourself...the summoner like the summons.
Say Shiva stance.
Ifrit stance.
Titan Stance and so on.
Or more interactions with your pets. Ahk Morn and the LB's are a good example of it.
I just thought I'd be with my pets more but eh...I'd be happy too, with a complete overhaul
and take a Beast Master as a replacement Pet job. It's just not doing it for me as SMN also the Egi's look like nuggets.
Hell, give me Carby's back and more 'self summons' shit, and you got a deal even then...The more I think on it
the more I do not like Egi's and the pets feel tagged on so I wanna get rid of them tbh...So I kinda want them gone
and you just take the power of the Summons and use them for you own self...Carby can do his own thing lol.

Tldr; Give Beast Master as a Pet Job. Overhaul Summoner to have Stance-like power things for each Summon.

Just make Dreadwyrm Trance look similar to Nero's Devil Trigger from Devil May Cry 4 [where we have a spectral Bahamut or just his wings on our backs].

That's all i want as a recently made Summoner, not the crazy ideas mentioned here. Idk why people seem to want a literal Summoner like previous FF. Would i love if my summons were like Yuna's Aeons? Hell yeah. Would it make sense in an MMO? Hell no.

There's some people who want more Summons, but....why? We have ranged, melee and tank, what else do we need? Just do this: Make new Egis as glamors. Have Leviathan as range, have Ravana as melee and so on.

SMN is very good now, the only complaint is being stuck with the same three egis, we should be able to summon an egi version of each primal we have defeated.
Pet glamour could easily fix that however, just slot new egis into existing categories, making them an alternate skin of what we have now in order to make balancing easier.

Something like:
Caster Pet: Emerald Carby - Garuda Egi - Ramuh Egi
Tank Pet: Topaz Carby - Titan Egi - Shiva Egi- Bismarck Egi
Melee Pet: Ruby Carby - Ifrit Egi - Leviathan Egi - Ravana Egi

Lore wise it could be explained that we can't summon new egis because of our limited aether but a workaround would be found basically consisting in "replacing" those we have now with different ones.
With a system like this we could get an Egi at the same time a new primal releases, making things much more interesting.

I'll be very, very happy if this glamour system turns out to be something like this.

SMN is very good now.

True, they did fix issues but the implementation was just backwards. We need a minor single target nuke for adds and got Deathflare, while good still takes time to build up. Painflare is nice but Bane is always going to trump it except on very weak trash mobs. Ifrit buff was very nice, too nice because we are back to one pet ruling them all. The only reason to use Garuda now is Contagion so you can use two Painflares. We didn't get a new pet nor any new DoTs. We didn't even get the glamour right off the bat. I still feel Dreadwyrm Trance would have been better serve to make a temporary Bahamut Egi pet. At the very least the graphic should have been something like Blue Dragon instead of the Bahamut bust we see in everyones house.

All SE needs do with Dreadwyrm Trance is add Bahamut Wings and Claws to the player character model during the animation otherwise Summoner is an a good spot now with Evoking the power of an Elder Priml this reminds me of Final Fantasy III where they can summon a Black or White effect.

just remembered, doesnt smn quest at lvl 50 after enkindle says you cant summon new one? then it fits in the lore perfectly. @_@?

I'm actually okay with how summoner turned out in heavensward thus far, even if it is the complete opposite of what most feedback was asking for. My only gripe is as always, egi graphics and no getting any new egi, which I feel was bullshit.

I'm gonna give them time on that. But if we never see any new pets, or at least the glamour system they vaguely mentioned "considering", I doubt I'll stick around ffxiv much longer. Don't have much respect for a develo0er that completely ignores their customers.
