I'm not too sure about it 'clashing with the original games vision'.

From how I see it, Yoshi is turning FFXIV into an MMO with a totally different play-style from Tanaka's original intention. It's not meant to follow along with the original design, it's meant to change the whole thing into a completely different design that won't crash and burn like the original FFXIV incarnation did, just using the same game engine.

A bit like how Duke Nukem Forever was remade multiple times before it was finally released, and the same with Max Payne, Alien Resurrection and many other games. The only difference between FFXIV and these other games is they weren't released before they were rebuilt.

The way I tend to look at it in my frame of mind is that patch 1.19 isn't actually 1.19, it's 1.00 v2.
