    A Plea from a raider - Make potions 3 per 1 craft again.

    Potions should be 3 per 1 craft like the old X-potions, unlike food you pop more potions during a fight and the actual cost for making said potions are insane compared to their older ones.

    This is a plea from a raider, I know crafters will enjoy it more than I for sure, but the process is just suffering.

    Also while the topic is up, does anyone have a macro for making the potions? Make the life of a raider easier plea ;_;

    Even crafters hate it. Making a stack for static members or to sell will be a nightmare.

    These will not be BiS Potions. This is simply BiS for now. This is 1star stuff (not even). Once 2star potions are released theres a good chance those will be x3 yield. Sucks for now but its not like we havnt been there already. Same goes for the food. Many got used to the x3 yeild of 4star meals. Just gotta live with it for now.

    We are essentially starting over again like 2.0 and these are the equivalent of mega-potions.

    Does that mean that the newer recipes will call for even MORE scarce ingredients?
    This round of crafting is brutal in terms of mats.
    BSM and ARM require 5 "hidden metals" to make the most basic component.
    LTW is far worse, requiring 3 hides/skins which seem to have a 5-10% drop rate off mobs that take 20-30 seconds to kill.
    Cul and Alch are in a similar position, requiring 3-5 of a mob dropped item (shanks, deepeye tears, etc) to make 1 item. Then recipes closer to 50 require old world unspoiled node ingredients or worse, new unspoiled node items where the node is up for a total of 3 minutes.

    The Basic metal is not hidden there is another one that is but it's not used that often.

    Otherwise I agree with your post materials seem to be much harder to get and every recipte requires more then during the entire 2.x times. (just think about the three hides for leatherworker...)

    This is the way I feel about everything...so much work is needed for one single craft. Holy Water, Goblin Jigs, potions, hides, cloth, etc - everything requires so much materials for one item - it's a little ridiculous. It would make a huge difference if you would get 2-3 from crafting something or if it required less materials.

    I don't mind it so much that each items needs a lot of sub-crafts, the annoying part for me is that it feels like you can't craft anything without help from AT LEAST one other crafting profession. Feels a bit over the top when the items made aren't necessarily that good, just part of moving upwards.

    Yeah I am a bit confused...
    Yoshida said that they wanted to make crafting MORE accessible.
    Well now everyone has access to a "modified BB", and some nice tricks to get extra progress and durability.
    You still all but need PbP, BB and CS2 are still amazing, Ing1/2 are again extremely useful given how much you are punished for being below the recipe level... So we still need to grind almost everything to 50, that hasnt changed.

    However now we need a LOT more materials for everything. We often need help from other crafting classes. And "top end gear"... which is actually only top end for crafters and gatherers, requires ingredients from unspoiled nodes. So... its a lot more work... thats all it is, it is a whole lot more work.

    Since Yoshida explicitly said that crafted items will not be as good as endgame items, I imagine that crafted gear will always be 20 ilvls behind not even the "top", but the accessible endgame gear. And given the increase in stats per ilvl, I doubt materia will cover the difference.
    So crafters make gear for other crafters and gatherers, and leveling combat classes... who are probably rolling in extra gear at this point.
    The only ones who are going to be useful, as before, are Cul and Alc... and it looks like Alc's potions are again using some REALLY rare ingredients. That leaves Cul as chef-bitch again... yay?

    I guess what I am trying to get at is that if they were looking to make crafting more enticing, they failed... miserably. It is a whole lot of time and grinding to participate in a closed economy of crafters and gatherers who all share gear. The demand will dry up very quickly. So unless something truly amazing happens when Alex NM and Red Scrip books come out, crafting may effectively be pointless.

    what kenji said. It makes me worried about crafting's future. This gear we can craft is just as good as the gear you can buy from the supply node in the last map. Materia prices have gone to its vendor price, except the 4's since theyre just hard to get, because theres nothing to do with materia right now. I have hope though. It will be a sad day if it turns out that this closed system remains closed when we get an expansion on crafting, but I think SE is aware of that. Im sure they've got something planned, just look at how much they added for HW already!
