A Problem that has followed from FFXI

I must be confused. I am pretty sure I am not in windowed mode. I set my game up right at launch and just recently came back. If I am in windowed mode, I can't tell the difference - the game takes up the entire screen (there is no visible window).

You are most likely using third party software, or are just really, really, REALLY lucky. Every single person I have come across has encountered this exact same problem, and it's unfortunate. A bunch of my friends and I use Ventrillo and other forms of communication whilst playing. Or we want to look something up on YG/Eorzeapedia, we really cannot do that unless a) we open the game up from steam or b) we play in windowed mode, which I personally feel takes away from the game.
