    Pet help?

I just started leveling arcanist again (soon-to-be summoner) and I'm having an issue in which I can't get my carbuncle to change targets. Anyone have any tips on that? It'd be extremely appreciated!

I used Google, but the tactic I found didn't work... Perhaps it was outdated? According to it, changing it to steady and then obey should have it attack what I was attacking, but it'd just run back to the mob it was originally attacking. I really want to make it switch targets, especially for taking out adds in boss fights.

Open up Pet Actions and hotkey the "Sic" action.
It tells the Pet to attack a selected target.

If you're using emerald carbuncle please never use the Sic command in group content. The knockback is infuriating for the rest of the party and you need to get into the habit of using Obey so that you can selectively use Contagion when you unlock it.

Once you have Ifrit you can have him on Sic as long as you're not concerned about stun immunity as he does significantly higher damage when freely using all of his skills.

But yes, Sic and Obey assign a target for your pet. Just please be sure to understand when to use each.

If it helps on both PC and PS4 I macro in an obey command. That's because I micro manage my pets. I connect it to my Ruin spells so they always attack what I'm attacking.

Even if I'm casting something else like Bio II on the next mob because I know it's about to die, can still push the ruin macro and Ifrit / Garuda will switch without needing the actual action to go off.

This too, this is a great time to start preparing for making the most of your pets. If not there's no harm but yes the knock back is something to use off and on. Usually if a mob comes to me I can knock it back into the tanks position or on a boss fight where I know the knock back won't work on them. Sooner or later you'll be telling Ifrit when to stun if needed! Just things you start to learn along the way. Happy summoning!

I open up the pet hotbar, select my target and tap obey, it should then attack your target.

I wish the pet bar worked more like wow's.

Passive(follows you), place, defend(attacks your target or things that hit you), attack, and right click abilities to toggle autocast. You can left click to manually use them.

Oh and auto passive when mounted. Tired of my pet attacking crap because I forgot steady before mounting.

I want Gauda's aoe on autocast damnit.
