An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting Final Fantasy XIV.(17)

Looked around at the forums, and though I have a gtx 970 my errors aren't the same as others who've been posting around. This error began on July 1st and hasn't allowed me to log in since. I can open the launch portal, when I go to login, it takes a couple seconds longer than normal, then goes to the play button. When pressed it opens a windowed screen and then crashes with the message "An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting Final Fantasy XIV.(17)". I've tried many times over the past two days and I haven't been able to log in. I updated my GC drivers and other drivers just in case. Here's my specs

edit: extra info, at times from the launcher when I click settings or any of the tabs on the bottom the launcher will freeze and I'll have to exit the launcher and try again. I've tried turning off DX11, and reverting all settings back to default with nothing changing.

edit edit: Dunno if the problem is resolved but a second re-installation lets me enter the game again. I'll update if the problem persists

I'm not very tech savvy compared to most of those I see on the forums, so I'm sorry if I ask dumb questions. hopefully this is something that has been addressed or is an easy fix and I'm just not aware of how to fix it. Thanks in advance
