I've met a good number of people that didn't like Ravana's VA, but honestly, it's grown on me. Love the bit of emotion put into the DPS Check phase. Clearly indicated by title~

I'm happy in general to have any voice acting at all during a boss fight. IMO it really amps things up and makes those moves just feel so much more impactful.

I for one hope they continue this trend for any new "major" fights to come.

Agreed. Voice acting has come an incredibly long way from what it was in 1.0-2.x. I'm quite happy with it.

I'm perfectly fine with Ravana's VA. It fits perfectly with his otherworldly bug man appearance. And he really does do good putting energy into his lines.....

Honestly, the only VA I don't like right now is Alphinaud, and that's mostly because he just kind of either flat reads or rushes out his lines half the time, (sometimes I feel like he's trying too hard to fit his lines into a short lip sync time, rather than preforming them properly). Also, I could be wrong on this, but is it a different VA for him than it was in the 2.xx cycle? I've thought so ever since first hearing him talk in HW. I haven't done a comparison by going back and listening to old cutscenes with him, but from what I remember, he sounded quite a bit different in 2.xx.......

I love Ravana's VA. Some of the new ones though.. Less so. IMHO Merlwyb sounds more nasally and kinda annoying, Ilberd and Raubahn sound super scottish suddenly, Alphinaud is much more british and is suddenly going through puberty, Midgardsormr just sounds old instead of old and cryptic.. et cetera. But I'm not sure if I dislike them because of quality or if I dislike them because they're changed from what I was used to.

I really like the new VA work. Having voiceovers at all in MSQ duties adds quite a lot, and Ravana sounds great.

Also, if everyone in Ala Mhigo has a northern English/Scottish accent, colour me happy.
