A lot of change added in the jobs for heavensward feel untested, not check enough for see what they can or not do.
the best example is the wanderer minuet and gauss cannon... but a lot of jobs have change needed, some only in the aspect of the skill, like Dark Art aura... and other by the sound, mantra sound that some find disturbing.
all of this did get into live server, how is possible? i means if Yoshida and it team did create a test server for allows a part of the community to test the new skill, all of this error, will have never reach the live server.
Test server don't need to let us test the new area or new story, but the change affecting the gameplay must be tested before launch. actually Yoshida and his team spend time to change stuff after they did come to us.... when it was possible to do it before we did get it. it's loose of time for the futur content... and make them work under pressure.
And all of this because Final Fantasy 14 don't have a test server.
How do it:
- a panel of tester from the whole world, not only japanese is needed
- one test server per group of server must be deployed, for test the latency effect on the change.
- it must be placed under strict NDA and with selected volunteer player from the community. for allows SE to gather more information about them change in battle system or even new feature, like hunt or personal housing.( this change was a lot discuss after them release because of the lack of testing. even now hunt are still something that create debat. )
Yoshida did said that more communication between dev and player is needed for make a better game, but recently we don't feel this communication. at least for the non japanese player. some message about change incoming for the bard did arrive on the japanese forum and did never come into other forum. more important, we are often forced to wait 1-2 week for get a simple full translation of the live letter, when it can be done far faster! translation of information about how the game will evolve need to be bring to the community as fast as possible.
For make simple, more communication (and faster, not 1-2 week after) and test server are needed, is not possible to continue to offer this much content without a good test from the community for know if this change will work or not.
this message is for Yoshida san and his team:
You can't find all flaws of your game by yourself, let's us help you to make a better Final Fantasy 14 experience.
ps: sorry for my english, is not my maternal language, but i feel i have more hope to have a better impact here.
