Kicked from groups as Astrologian

So yeah, tonight I joined a Bismarck Ex Clear Group, most didn't have it cleared, and I knew the fight in and out. Anyways, leader warned me before I joined that if heals weren't pretty good he'd have to replace me. I thought, well, that's okay, it's common sense to replace whoever's doing bad.

Come the fight, we wipe a few times, none of which were mine or the WHM's fault. The Leader proceeded to tell me that he'd have to replace me, that I was doing pretty good, but they need consistency and that they'd trust more a Scholar, thus kicked me and blocked Astrologians' spots in his PF.

I really like the job, find it way too fun (along with Mch .-.), but I don't want to keep on being kicked from raids or battles because I'm an Ast. I think, however, they do need some buffs, or a rehaul on their card system, but they're not THAT bad.

Sounds like you got kicked because the leader didn't know what they were doing. Not because of "ast being bad" which it isn't.

This is the first time I heard of an AST getting kicked from a party and from Bismarck Ex of all things.

AST heals are fine. The party leader provably wasn't paying attention or just ignorant about AST. Honestly I trust an AST heals more than an a SCHs since Lunstrate and Indomitably are tied to Aetherflow and the latter has a cd, not a long cd but still a cd.

yeah pretty much this, astros heal just fine, sounds entirely like this guy has no damn clue what hes talking about and thinks he knows everything. You'll probably sadly run into a lot of idiots like this for awhile until astros really start to take their place in the game, but they heal perfectly fine

I cleared Bismark EX on my AST. Bismark healing is beyond easy... From my experience 99% of the wipes are due to DPS being low or DPS not doing mechanics. Not to say that I didn't make mistakes while learning - just that DPS tends to be the biggest issue in it.

Also the only thing that's not consistent on AST is their buffs. Their heals/DPS skills are not locked behind RNG... so that guy's reasoning was odd. Maybe he just wanted more DPS from the healers.

Not to say AST's aren't a little under powered. I wouldn't be against buffs.

He apparently didn't see the AST solo heal Ravana EX. Astro is fine. People are stuck in 2.0 mode. New patch new concepts. Get with the times people.

I was actually throwing in a little DPS whenever I could, against adds, against Bismarck's top, I'd use Collective Unconscious after applying my adds on Bis. I really don't know why I was kicked, and now I must admit I kind of feel demotivated and am levelling White Mage now u.u

I have no problems with healing in Bismack EX, but I've seen some PF groups do block AST slot & only let WHM, SCH in on my server. I think they want to rely on SCH help to pass the DPS check more than worrying about AST healing.

Not seeing how that's relevant seeing as:
1. Bismark is not a heal heavy fight
2. OP was not solo healing

It doesn't take context clue to figure out that the party leader was referring to healer DPS (seeing as the fight is largely a DPS check, they'd want healers to DPS) and was probably expecting scholar potency DPS.
