Cactaur Raid Group forming WED/SUN nights

Hello, Akrista Inverse here!

After searching to join a raid group that fit my schedule, I found myself stuck between raiders wanting 3-5 nights a week and extremely casual options offering no concrete schedule.

As such I have decided to see about running my own group. My raid group will be structured and ran as follows:

1. I am looking for players who enjoy the game and want to push content but are not interested in being on the bleeding edge. Some nights we may help members of our FC, some nights we may not push current content the entire time. I'm not looking to create another source of stress for myself or the members of my group.

2. I tried having a 'casual' raid group with no set schedule and no roster in 2.X. It did not go well. While my approach to the game is focused on fun and enjoying the social aspect, I understand now that a raid group is raid group is a raid group. There's no need for being a tyrannical hard a** but you can't be too soft and loose either. We will be raiding 2 nights a week trying to create group chemistry and learn the fights. While my patience for wipes, frustrations and unavoidable problems will be at its peek, my tolerance for petty drama, biased complaints and generally being lazy and not putting forth effort will be zero.

3. My plan is to do the story raids and extreme primals in 3.X, pushing to savage Alexander and what lies beyond ONLY if we have an 8/8 desire to do so and the subsequent experience does not ruin our fun. Frustration and triumph is part of raiding but constant failure and anger leads to broken raid groups every time.

4. While you do not have to join our FC to be part of this group, we will always make an effort to help members of our FC when not raiding. I left my old company because I felt the core raiders were ignoring and brushing aside other FC mates. I will not allow this raid group to sew similar seeds. There's plenty of time and game for everyone to have fun

5. I'm in charge. I'll always be open to suggestions, constructive criticism, etc, but will not tolerate childish behavior and the slop that some people bring to this community. I nearly let such things ruin this game I enjoy so much before. I'm not going to be an a** hole but... if you want to join, just know - I'm in charge

Raid times will be Wed and Sun at 7pm CST. We will go 2 hours (9pm) leaving some room for more attempts if we're feeling it. The weeknight is open to change but Fri/Sat are out of the question for me.

A friend of mine and myself are looking for this type of group. We are currently on coeurl but willing to transfer. We are SMN and AST. Would you be able to accept us both?

Absolutely! My only caveat is that you both be open to shuffling jobs. We want to keep everyone in their desired role (tank/healer/dps) but if we need to diversify, please be open to that. Otherwise I'm happy to discuss with you this move or answer any questions you might have. I wouldn't want you to be excited, spend your money to transfer, then find out things aren't going to work out.

I'm the AST friend he was referring to. I just got AST to 60 last night and I'm starting on my 50 WAR now. I'm totally fine with switching roles if necessary especially with the new token system for gear.

Our DRK and AST/WHM are returning to the raiding scene after a not so great experience in the 2.0 - 2.1 scene. We figured while everyone gears up and gets to 60, we could work our way through Coil and start to feel each other out. Please don't be afraid to ask any particulars!

Also, as to the role switches, our other AST mentioned she'd be OK with going WHM. I am stepping off from SCH and filling a DPS role for now.

I might have to respectfully decline then. I don't mind shifting to meet the needs of the group from time to time, but it seems shifting might be a frequent of the group, which I'm not keen for. Thanks for the information though.

Our initial intention isn't to constantly be switching roles. We just want to shuffle around at first to get a good group dynamic. If your friend came as an AST for example, we wouldn't want 2 of them, so the other healer offered to go WHM. But I understand either way. Best of luck on your world!
