cant server transfer

so i started playing on saturday but it turns out my friend plays in some other server made it to lvl 19 and i wanna transfer to this server but it wont let me i wanna transfer from jenova to gilgamesh and it wont let me , in fact ive tried transfering to some other server but it weont let me so its not just transfering to gilgamesh, need help it says that there are no available characters for transfer on red.

Are you on a free Trial account by any chance? Free trial accounts are restricted as to what you can do, server transfers being one of them.

The Lodestone and Mogstation are both down for maintenance at the moment though so it's possible that might be interfering with the server transfer service. All you can do is wait til it finished I'm afraid.

Server transfer is a paid service, and imo since you're only lvl19 it's probably easier to just start over on gilgamesh.

The major problem with this type of World system is it isn't as simple as just starting over or transferring. I just started this game a few days ago, yet I can't even play with my friend who recruited me, as silly as that is.

I could not start a character on Gilgamesh because the World was full, so I assume I can't transfer to it either. Now what? I cannot play with my friend unless he starts over from scratch (won't happen) or pays to transfer to another realm. Very frustrating experience for someone who has come from WoW, which has so much cross-realm/world functionality that these kinds of things are not a problem. I think they need to take a tip from their major competitor in this regard as their current system is very old and outdated. I know it is a money grab to some extent, but for a subscription based game shouldn't be necessary.

Currently I am sitting on a realm unable to play with my RL friend because of this old school technology. Get with the times!

Actually you can transfer to a world that has character creation restricted. And servers are not always locked btw, during the less active hours in your time zone it should be possible to create a chatacter.
