Fresh retail start

Hopefully they introduce a new server for new players who don't want to feel overshadowed and for players who want to start over fresh, but personally I'll be keeping the work I've already put into the game, thanks.

Assuming i still play by PS3 release date.

This question shouldn't even have to be asked, come on man think a little bit. Dropping all of the current playerbase back to level 1 would lose more subs than they gain on ps3 release.

And there are plenty of us who made our gil via craft or in my case gathering 95% of the time. If characters were reset to level 1 I would leave and not come back, which would be sad I put alot of work not only into into my own character but also into helping others in and out of game.

Remember i said i would not like a reset i would like it but then again i don't want to redo the work. When i did it 3 times rerolling and even in beta o.o getting 15+ was hard and starting over each beta was pain in the ass when you want to test out the harder stuff.

people really think that just because he said no reset on PS3 release there will not be one? The game's state it/was horrible, people leveled and are leveling now in a manner that is not normal, everything is unbalanced....... when PS3 people join in, do you think that is really fare?

It is clear you guys didn't play FFXI from the beginning. I was there on PC before PS2 and Xbox360 releases. We helped them out, leveled new jobs. It was fun. Stop whining, servers won't be wiped.

Servers won't be wiped but it would be nice if at PS3 launch we got a new class or two to level. It was always fun on XI when an expansion was released to see all the 9000 of lv1 <new job> running around haha.

I remember being in a Valkurm Dunes PT with 4 Blue Mages 1 Puppetmaster and a Corsair haha next to two other parties with pretty much the same setup rofl.

EDIT: To answer the OP, I'm at the point now with XIV where I'd pay for a subscription fee for it. I'm having fun, a lot more fun than my later years of XI grinding at least. So for that its worth the $15/mo.

I'm a player who might start from scratch after playing on the same character for a month or two, just because I grow bored of how the character looks like, so personally I wouldn't mind them reseting everyone, hell I've done it like 7 times already and I've played this game for around 5 months total, but I wouldn't like the fact that like 80% of the other players would quit because of it.

They already said they wouldn't reset. Don't worry about it.
