PLD vs DRK - Damage taken

Is than normal that as lvl 60 DRK, naked, Bergthurs are hitting me around 440 dmg, and a lvl 50 PLD friend, naked, was taking around 350 dmg ?

(naked = we had 0 defense, weapon and job cristal only)

I hate to ask this but, did you have a shield equipped?

Also was Shield Oath being used?

That damage difference does seem significant...

Have your friend go to level 51.

To do fair comparisons you should really be the same level. The equations for damage are dependent on your level. I've seen several people posting comparisons like yours, but they don't mean much if the characters/jobs aren't the same level.

In particular, as soon as you hit expac levels, the stat weights change. A PLD at 50, in the same gear, will take more damage upon hitting level 51.
