Reliable 'stone' macro?

This is how I handled mine

/micon "Cleric Stance"
/hotbar action "Stone II" #X #X
/hotbar action "Stone III" #X #X
/ac "Cleric Stance"

So I tried the hotbar method and..... Fantastic.
I ended up tying it to Protect, and now im spamming the proper skill like a boss. TYVM!

Wow, if I am understanding this correctly, this should work out very well. I'm glad I came back to check this thread xD. I'm going to try the hotbar method later today.

For me stone I is always going to be on my bar for heavy, but in my head I always associate its hotkey with heavy and not direct dmg spam, which is kinda where my problem stems from... Standing there like a moron idling for a bit in a low level dungeon spamming the hotkey for stone III, when I should be spamming stone I lol. At any rate, this looks very promising. Thanks!

really smart idea but i wouldnt tie it to CS, maybe protect? I find queueing CS important too for when you have to switch from dps to heal quickly.

I don't know if it really matters what skill is tied to it. I haven't found any issues using it with CS but protect would work too. Technically it doesn't even have to be a skill, it could simply be a macro button to change the hotkeys. I set it to CS because whenever I dps I do it in CS which means that I know my bar will always be ready when I am. The change is very fast and doesn't delay casting of anything in any significant way. Then again, if you go into an instance, you will probably cast protect right away, so your bar will be set too. But then when you leave the instance, you have to cast protect again before your next fight, and you could forget. I know I would.
