Lancer rotation questions

I have looked at all the guides and I can't understand why I would ever do the true Thrust, Vorpal Thrust combo. I can spam Impulse Drive and do more damage overall. The combo hits for a total of 350 potency, in the same amount of time I can cast 2 Impulse Drives and do a total of 360 potency.

If I am missing something please enlighten me.

You are correct, spam impulse drive until you get the 3rd chain of the True Thrust combo, which is Full Thrust. Once you have that the TT-VT-FT combo will be significantly more potent.

You are missing about 12 lvls.

Seriously though, what King said. You don't have your full skill set yet so you have to evolve your rotation as you level.

As you gain more levels and combos, you'll realize that you will want to utilize your Full Thrust combo while your DoTs are ticking to maximize the damage you are doing. Give it time and hopefully the new array of skills will make the rotation sound sensible.

How to DPS as a 26+ Lancer:
* Heavy Thrust
* Leg Sweep
* Full Thrust Combo + Life Surge

The class really opens up at about lvl 40 (like most classes) when you have options, gap-closers, debuffs, etc etc.
