Don't remember the exact chat text category it falls under, but here's a trick. Enable all battle text then engage a creature. Use Guard to ensure that you block at least once. Then, when the battle is over, go into your chat log configuration screen and switch hide/display each individual battle text category until you find the one that hides the red text showing "You block something something's attack for...". The reason you can do this is because the chat log updates right away. This also works for trying to identify which category shows the "Your shield arm falls" green text.
Something else you could try is setting up a Guard macro that works like:
/ac "Guard" <me>
/wait 10
/t Your Name Your shield arm is down. Son I am disappoint.
/echo By the way your shield is down in case you missed the last message.
/s Third warning!
What that does is after it activates Guard, it will wait 10 seconds* and then send you a tell, which appears in pink so it might be more visible. You can also use echo for a blue system message that only you can see, or regular say but that could get annoying. Hope this helps.
You can modify the wait time up to 60 seconds; however I don't think there any shields that have such a one minute wield rate...
