Astrologian Ravana Extreme Solo heal and Solo tank DRK

Hey guys, I've been reading quite a bit these forums here and on reddit and I've noticed that the impression people have gained from Astrologian is that they aren't very viable compared to other healers, I'd have to disagree on the part about Astrologians not being effective or weak compared to other healers.

Astrologian promotes different kind of healing game compared to other healers, I personally really enjoy astrologian and I want to say that people should really play what they enjoy the most and make that job work by their own style.

I'll give a like just because Astrologian managed to do it. But from a healing perspective, Ravana isn't actually difficult to heal at all. There's many breaks in which you can top people up and everything. As usual, if people are doing their part and minimizing unnecessary damage, it also takes away some stress from healing as well. Looking forward to that Solo Bissy EX healing~

Hey there, point of view from Astrologian is what was the most important subject, therefore the reference to Astrologian as a solo healer as for the Bismarck extreme as a solo healer, I've already done it as Astrologian and I find that fight easier to heal solo than Ravana extreme, I haven't taken a video from it. Ravana in other hand depends on many factors, such as solo tank which brings even more difficulty into the fight compared to having 2 tanks, I wanted to have more odds against this job so I could feel how much Astrologian can overcome the odds despite not having " get me out" skills in it's arsenal. If I wanted the easiest kill, I would've just gone Shield stance and ask him to solo the big damage instead of directing it to the raid and us getting cleaved, but my healing partner is scholar and I will be playing on "regen/whm" stance therefore I wanted to challenge my self as much as I could. Also our Dark knight parried twice during that whole fight.

Thank you, I hope this encourages those who wish to raid as Astrologian to stick with job instead of trying to choose the " safe " route

I apologize if it came off as if I was trying to downplay. Not my intent. Only sharing what I felt when I stepped into the fight not too long ago. Certainly my life as WHM is easier no doubt. I haven't gotten to watch the video yet(accursed work) as I was definitely curious how you managed some mechanics(figured the tank spike damage would have been a pain to deal with didn't know yet it was cleaving raid) then I was also curious about Double Prey. Anyway, I'll comment more when I actually get a chance to watch it. Either way, don't be fooled by my approach~ I still do respect the fact that you're going against the grain that AST may have trouble end game.

There was no offense taken I was main White mage before, I hope you're enjoying it as it has truly become a power house healer now

Most of those people aren't level 60 and weren't properly geared. Or they were WARs/PLDs with a chip on their shoulder/territorial complex.

That's not to say DRK isn't underpowered comparitive to WAR/PLD... they are. You have to be very good at timing your cooldowns on DRK if you want to survive all the tank busters. But it's possible if you know what you're doing. I think all the new jobs are comparitively underpowered, and that's intentional. It's better to start a class UP and buff them up than to start them OP and nerf them down. The mob responds well to buffs, but horribly to nerfs. SE knows this.
