We need more dynamic interactions between existing abilities so that our rotations become less predictable, and offer more opportunities for skilled players to stand out amidst the rest.
That's the only kind of Traits I hope they add next.

I speak mainly of procs/stacks generated through "controled RNG" (i.e.: 100% chance on crits with specific abilities. or X% chance from abilities regardless of crits, X% on tick from ability Y to reset cooldown of ability Z) that provide an opportunity that involves meaningful decision-making in the middle of combat.
I'm not talking about PGL/MNK-style buff maintenance.

Because right now, there's very little room to distinguish two players with the same gear and Job - assuming both know the enemy/encounter/Job.

Technically I think if you wanted to have a mnk or drg play makeshift tank for a bunch of friends, cross classed skull sunder is probably going to be the (or one of the) highest enmity moves they can use while striking from the front. Not something you'll use all the time, but the niche is there.

I wish they would have thrown in a few traits from 50-60 that changed or modified existing abilities instead of just throwing in 5 new abilities. Some classes already have too many buttons as it is.

Traits don't do much other than switching up your class mechanics/rotation every 5-10 levels.

Almost like the new job abilities did.

Cross Class is likely something they want phased out since they've had no semblance of supporting them outside of tweaking how strong they were (In which they made them weaker. Remember when bards could cross into every dps cooldown when they were 20% untraited?)

If anything, traits / cross class would get folded into the base classes and removed entirely. There's already some very obsolete abilities that could stand to get removed, changed, or improved, and rather than clunk it up with traits, you might as well just bake it into the class. The traits themselves serve no purpose than ensuring no other class can use your skills as well as you can. Given how limited the armory choices are once you get your Jerb, traits are fluff at that point.
