Lore question about lvl 58 smn quest (spoilers)

Y'mhitra says in the smn storyline before you unlock Dreadwyrm Trance-

"Y'mhitra: You were there at the Battle of Carteneau. You were there on the day of the Calamity when aether infused with the dragon's essence rained down upon the field."

Nobody else in the game seems to realize "I" was there, so how does she?

I can barely remember, but if I'm not mistaken, she told me that Bahamut's aether reaches across the entirety of Eorzea, which is the reason I was "bathed" in his aether.

So I'm assuming that's a bonus thing for legacy characters, which in turn means that Y'shtola probably told her about you at some point after she realized who you are at the end of 2.0.(which is a thing that only happens to legacy characters.)

During the 2.x storyline, I believe right at the end of the 2.0 main story, everyone suddenly 'remembers' you (if you were a legacy player). I didn't realize the phrasing for legacy and non-legacy players was different for this particular quest, as I just assumed non-legacy players were 'there' in theory, even if you weren't playing at the time. It's interesting that it might differ depending on if you are legacy or not. I personally LOVED that explanation... really tied things together.

A lot of the time, our character is the strong silent type... so we just assume they nod without saying a word. But, it's very well possible we shared this bit of information with her, or she now 'remembers' us because the veil was lifted.

I'm not sure if everyone remembered at that moment (they very well might have), but enough people remember due to the end of Operation Archon (when Hydaelyn bid them that they reach out to you) that surely they've started telling people by now. Minfilia never forgot, and Cid realized when you used the Echo to help him regain his lost memories, but they kept it quiet until then.
