Please Change Triple Triad Tournaments Back

The way it was pre-Heavensward was a vast improvement to the new system. All this is doing is rewarding cheaters even more and punishing people who play legitimately even more. Avid collectors like myself already had a hard enough time getting the tournaments cards and gold pack cards due to the horrid RNG but now it's become even more difficult. I'm pretty sure these changes were introduced to encourage players to play together instead of solo farming NPCs but if the other threads are any indications, it's just making people quit entirely.

And if it's not too much to ask, can we also get a price reduction on gold packs like how all the chocobo items got price reductions? I regret spending so much money on gold packs for Zidane because I could have almost had enough MGP for Cloud by now if I had just saved it.

It wouldn't be so bad, if you didn't need to do 30-60 matches per tournament. Even through farming NPCs, completing all of your Triple Triad tournament matches can take hours. Now we have to challenge players to get any decent points, and apparently you can't even challenge the same player more than once because you get diminishing returns. This means you have to challenge (and win against) 30+ different, real players!

This is a basically impossible task for anyone who isn't cheating by buying their wins. Even if you spent the entire week in Gold Saucer, you would be hard pressed to find 30 (let alone 60) different players who were in the tournament and willing to accept your challenge.

The old system was bad as well, but at least I could take an hour or two of farming Elmer to get a chance of winning some rare cards every two weeks. Now there is zero reason for me to participate in these tournaments.

This is NOT true.

The point system change itself is pretty good, because you dont get less points for people who lost a lot of matches, but changing the points you get from NPCs was a stupid idea.

Hours, minutes or seconds, if there's no real reward to be had why do it at all? Its not like playing the NPCs that we farmed our starter cards off of when the Gold Saucer was released offers any sort of fun. We want platinum packs and some MGP. I don't think that's asking for much.

The tournament was something I actually looked forward to every couple of weeks. I could play the NPCs, get some mgp and maybe 2 or 3 platinum packs. Now, I won't even bother. Gold Saucer was really a magnificent place to visit from time to time, now it will be even more of a ghost town. I never could do the races because the movement makes me nauseous, so TT was the only thing to keep me coming back. There is no point now. SE really shot themselves in the foot with this one.

Player says they threw all but 2 of their matches and still got 2 plat packs. Holy hell SE...WTH were you thinking???

If there was someway to find people who were looking to play triple triad it would be easier. There should be a Triple Triad status so players know you want to play.
