Hmm, maybe they should just separate the Gold Saucer tourney from the player tourney. That way they could return the GS tourney back to the older and more favored system, and give the player tourney different awards. Or, make it so that winning individual player matches would drop coins that could be used to purchase items for entry into a Gold Saucer dungeon/battle arena (which is missing), a gachapon...gashopan machine etcetera. Depending on the rewards it could be really fun and insentivising like a free extra retainer (ultra rare of course), a motorcycle/hovercycle and makocycle mounts, event items, new items, seasonal items, pre-order items, contest items, a Ragnarock mount, in-game currency packages, et cetera.

I love it. In the top twenty of the tourny on my server is one person who only won 1 game and another who only won 2, and both of them out rank me. Why am I even bothering to do this? This is utterly ridiculous.

Got 2.2k points this time expecting to get at least 1-2 Platinum packs and justify the time spent on it. I got none. Ugh, this tourney just pisses me off a little more with each week I have to put up with SE and the playerbase ruining it from both ends.

Why bother with the tourney anyway unless you a supporter of gaming the system? It's easier and faster to rack up MGP from the mini cactpot 3 times a day now.

For me it was never about the MGP, it was about the platinum packs and a chance for a rare card. I have not been back to the Gold saucer in weeks and do not plan to go back until they return the NPC points back to what they were before HW.

It's pretty ridiculous. People in the top 20 can have 0 wins with all 35-50 games played because of the way points are calculated now.

And on Leviathan at least, it's been the same person cheating to get the top spot nearly every single time a tournament rolls around, and if not them, it was someone else in their FC. I mainly do the tournament since it's free MGP but it really sucks for anyone who really wants to try to get into the top 3 but can't because they aren't able to cheat well enough.

Also as far as I know, the tournament points you get from NPCs is still a fair bit lower than it once was.

I haven't played TT in so long... Because these tournaments are crap and not worth the effort.
