    A potential solution:

    - For each unique NPC defeated a number of bonus points should be rewarded to encourage Triple Triad players to head out into the world and challenge the various NPC's. I play on Balmung which is very busy but there's very few people willing to play against other players whenever I try and set up a match.

    I'd love to play other players but 9 times outta 10 people would rather grind NPC get mgp and move on. This system needs more incentive to play players

    What about a queue system like with Chocobo Racing? Players queue up, and if no other players(/an uneven number of players) queue up, they fight an NPC.

    This method by itself could still lead to easy win trading, since a win buyer and seller could just queue up when no one else was playing (although a third party could really ruin their day, if they saw the cheating going on).

    To really put a hamper on cheating, you could set up tournament times. Say, an hour at a time, three or four times a day.

    The obvious downside is that players would no longer be able to do the tournaments whenever they felt like. However, by limiting the times that tournament matches are available, you increase the number of real players available for matches, as well as decreasing (and possibly abolishing) win trading.

    The real question is... why the heck would they adjust the system in the first place? It was working out fine. The cheating win-traders still placed high, but everyone else who played fairly still had a chance to overtake those morons, or at the very least, get decent cards.

    Why would they change it to benefit the cheaters in the first place?

    think the change was necessary so the triple triad players are on par with the chocobo racers.

    gold saucer feels like a biiiiiiiiig waste of time and money. square fix the gold saucer please or remove the whole thing >.<

    the gold saucer is far, faar away from a place where you have -fun-

    The racing takes a lot more time though, so I would hope the Racing rewards were higher...

    i meant nobody does the choco race (on my server you barely see anyone racing there. sometimes one or two persons, that's it xD), so they had to adjust the cardgame so nobody does it either.

    the gold saucer is just RNG, RNG, RNG, RNG, RNG, more RNG, RNG, RNG, and RNG. it's so unfun, really sad for a place where you want to go to -have- fun...

    and i think it's too late. even if they remove the whole RNG nonsense (and the massive grind) the choco race will never be accepted by the playerbase. and it seems the cardgame goes the same way. if the next game is not simply awesome and fun and all, they can close the gold saucer...

    edit: seems the last topic about choco racing in this forum was made over a month ago... it's so dead...

    I want to like this but it's not enough, beating NPC still can't compete with the cheaters on the top of the board. How exactly will the new fix prevent that?

    This ^ because no one wants to play against someone when there is unfair match making. It should have a ranking system and a instanced area just like chocobo racing.

    Well I went back to FFVII's Gold Saucer and oh my god it's so much more "alive" and fun then FFXIV's.
    No card games, no cheating players, no weather effects on chocobos, minigames were fun etc...

    And they DID pull the plug from FFXI's Tetra Master back in 2005 so this same might happen to TT in here.
