Triple Triad Tournament... no longer worth the time

I am in the same boat. I liked what it was before. Same enough incentive to do them with NPCs every week. Now I won't bother.

So, that's what that announcement in the patch notes meant...

The method for calculating Triple Triad tournament points has been adjusted.

While I'll acknowledge that three Platinum Cards seemed a bit generous, 20k MGP per week for participating did not seem outrageous at all. Anyone know if points accumulated against players was similarly nerfed, or if they left that alone as an encouragement to get more players playing against human players instead of NPCs? Assuming honest play, I'm wondering if it's still possible to see good MGP rewards and cards?

Seriously, though, I hope SE understands WHY players gave up on humans and moved to NPCs instead. It's not at all fun participating in a rigged game (unless, possibly, you're the one doing the rigging). As long as human players are able to choose their opponents and communicate with them during the match, players will win-trade. Tournament matches MUST be assigned randomly, and chat between competing players needs to be disabled. That way, the best folks could do is throw their match and HOPE their opponent chooses to tip them.

Me: Well, that match was suspiciously easy...
Other Guy: Hey, I totally jobbed that match for you! Gimme 20k, okay???
Me: Uh... how about 'no'.

SE needs to treat the sickness, NOT the symptoms.

This is what scares me, game developers say they "listen" to the community, but as we see here with the Triple Triad they clearly do not listen at all. "Oh whats that something something about tourney points? Ok lets nerf the points you can get from npcs, that will fix it and shut them up".


What scares me even more is the fact that they made this change without any regard down the road to what would happen to the normal players who are just trying to get some of the insanely ultra rare cards from the only way to get them through the super rigged Platinum Packs.

I for one can't stand the pack system as it is too, Iam bout 300k MGP in the hole on Gold packs without seeing the ones I need, and with Platinum Packs alls I ever get are Ultima Weapons or Lahabreas, now on top of this if I only see a platinum pack once a month if that, its just going to cause me to loose what little interest I had in Triple Triad as it is.

why not just give the same amount of points for a win regardless of any other factor? i understand that it would be seen as lame that someone playing an NPC and someone playing versus a player could get the same amount of points (i dont see how thats lame at all call me crazy but that seems fair lol) but what choice is there? if not that then these prick win traders (who have been in the top 20 every week since these tournaments came out, who obviously do not need the MGP or the cards) will just keep abusing your broken system cheating everyone who actually would like to, you know,actually earn their wins and tournament points, out of getting an actual decent reward and actually like having fun which is supposed to be the point.
P.S remove the bonus that you get for beating a player with a better deck, that does nothing but encourage the win traders further. lets be real for a second, someone with a bad deck isnt going to want to play a person with a better deck, because lets face it you arent going to win, even if the rules are favorable, you arent going to get a good score, unless the person is a total dummy, or you play versus an NPC with your starter deck. or if your a win trader trying to get 2 or 3 times the points as anyone else doing it legitimately!

Thanks SE. I really liked doing tourneys because of the chance at new cards, but this... this is garbage.

haha i only played 10 fights for latest tourney.. relised how crap the rewards were for dueling npcs so gave up XD

This is awful... I usually get 10K MGP and 2 Platinum Card Packs. This time, I got 4K MGP and no Platinum Card Packs. T_T

Whoa, that sucks, I haven't been able to play today because of work, but I liked doing those for the chance at some rare cards and the extra MGP was good, but I might as well stop entering the tourneys if thing are like this, playing 40 matches for almost nothing is a huge waste of time and not worth it anymore from the looks of it.
