Equilibrium gives a big heal instantly in between GCD and you don't need to stop attacking. Took too much damage? O shit equilibrium can save ur ass, and it cannot be interrupted. Clemency you have to stop attacking to cast it (3 seconds) and you run the very real risk of getting it interrupted while tanking.

Cast interruptions are a function of physical damage dealt as a % of HP. Of course a Titan HM autoattack isn't going to interrupt you, it hits like a wet noodle. Try casting PLD stoneskin in T13 with no echo in i110 gear, every auto will interrupt you. In any content that matters, if you're casting Clemency/Stoneskin while tanking a hard hitting raid boss expect to be interrupted by auto attacks.

I didn't know this but assumed it had to be along those lines, thank you.

again assuming no interrupts clemency is fine.. but will guzzle most of your mana.. you'll worry on overheals and if you cast it early it'll just go to waste
Yeah I wasn't suggesting Clemecy in place of Stoneskin, just showing my experience with casts not being interupted as a PLD. Stoneskin is something I've used a lot in the past as mt and ot. So again, Clemency interrupts aren't a major concern. As for the loss of mitigation during cast, that's a good point, but when saving my healer with a 3000 HP heal, I get 1500 back which should balance it just fine. I wouldn't worry about overheals as a PLD, and mp isn't a concern unless I'm needing to spam flash.

Again their both valid, but Clemecy definitely better suits my love of a support play-style, saving not just myself but the party. And these arguments in favour of equilibrium show how well the skill was built to suit the WAR MO, not interrupting DPS, etc.
