Triple Triad Tournament is a joke

I'm on Gilgamesh one of the most populated servers in NA. With changes to the Triple Triad Tournament we don't get hardly any points via NPCs. And I don't know how everyone else is but I never ever see anyone shouting for Tournament Matches. This current system is just people milking the poorly made TT setup to get easy MGP payouts.

Example. I did all 40 matches this recent tournament and won 32. My MPG payout was 4k. Before at least with a NPC grind you could get 22k +3 Platinum Card Packs. I can't justify sitting around farming a NPC 40+ times for 4k.

Fix: Revamp this system. Put it in a DF or something because its garbage in its current state.

I won like 22 out of my 40 and got 6900~ GP and no packs. Not really sure why the difference is so huge but nothing about the current system makes sense or is working well. Please revert to pre-Heavensward style.

Agreed. At least with old system you could NPC grind out your Tournament then get a decent reward. I'm just done with it till a better system comes into play. There should be a little Terminal that players can go to and it puts them in a queue to play other players.... or something. I don't really have the best answer but this is cutting it right now

It was fine how it was before. Greater payout and rewards for playing other players "well" (wintrading or just legitimately winning, whatever), and sizable enough rewards to justify playing at all with NPCs. This didn't need changed at all. What was the problem this was causing here? I wish there was some clarity here.

I am very annoyed at these changes. Now if you avoid all the cheating and just play the npcs you get almost no MGP and no cards. Why reward the cheaters more? Please revert these changes so the people that don't want to deal with all the cheating can at least try to get the cards.

I was hoping they would fix it against all the cheaters... no they just made it worse for all the legit players.

I will not be participating in the tournament any more. No one I know plays TT so I was playing the NPCs to get my points and a couple of platinum packs every week. I don't see how this was hurting anything at all. Since this change, I won't bother. It seems that Gold Saucer will become a wasted bit of programming and development. A shame really.

It seems that SE looked at the numbers of people playing TT with each other and is trying to force us to play tournaments with other players. It won't work.

There seems no post about it on the JP Gold Saucer board, so I am guessing we will not see a change. I said same thing on reddit, I see the game want to push us to multiple accounts more and more, we can't do all the things with 1 char anymore which is the best thing i love ff14 as an MMO. Invite-a-friend (2nd account) to get twintania, marry said account to get a mount, have all desynth skills, all crafting specializations without changing, more retainer venture farming (too many mat required on HW recipes).

Agreeing with everyone here. This new Triple Triad Tournament system in 3.0 only makes it WORSE for the regular players.

The old way in 2.x at least let regular players grind and get *some* Platinum Packs for winning against NPCs each time.

Now it's much harder to play and win, and it's just letting the cheaters (who have alts and Win-Trade) win EVEN MORE than before.

Please fix this.
