Thread: Gear ideas.... styles from past FF titles

I know this isn't priority #1 by a long shot in this game... but for future development on new gear for the game wouldn't it be nice if they made gear that were based off some of the past FF games? They had some style, and I'm sure people would love to "dress up" as on of their favorite characters. They don't have to be exactly the same, nor do they have to be for the same job class as they were in past titles. Some of the game now looks kinda bland... and being a FF game...with a huge fan base.... people will most likely enjoy the reference.

Again this is definitely not top priority for the devs to make at the moment I know, but Id be very happy if they remembered this in the future when designing new armor for the the game

the only one i could see in ff14 is the pic from ff12, the others are way too different of an art style.

Like i said, it doesn't have to be an exact match...they could remove a zipper here and there and add cross stiching or something to fit the "style"

Hell they could have some foreign merchant from another continent selling gears from around the world...thus the different styles. Could make an interesting quest line with this npc too... like he is in our lands seeking a certain somthing... and you can use that something as currency to buy his gear.

Akihiko Yoshida is the lead designer for FFXIV, his designs from FFT, FFXII, Vagrant Story, or even Tactics Ogre: LUCT would work very well in this game.

But Tetsuya Nomura's approach to the FF franchise (FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, FFXIII) is more contemporary and punk influenced. It's not a good fit for Eorzea.

This. Nomura and Yoshida are like beer and ice cream. Great separate, not so good combined.

I think the FF Tactics / Tactics Ogre is just about perfect. I'd just love to see the classic styles. I'm so in love with the white mage outfit.
