Scholar main looking to seriously go summoner, stat problems

Hey all, from the title you probably guessed it... the legendary "I am a Scholar main and want to summoner (or vice versa)" problem.

If I allocate (or rather, do not reallocate and keep my points) the majority of my points in mind will this gimp my damage as a summoner significantly enough to prevent me from making it past DPS checks (AKA Bismark EX)?

I already have i179 gear for both jobs (I didn't spend the doman urushi/etc I saved up yet but I have a full set ready), but my concern is the fact that I do N.O.T. know how to allocate my points.

Which is the better decision? Allocate towards int for summoner / DPS checks or keep them in mind for scholar?

I have Scholar as my main, always will be, I am a healer in static groups. However I want summoner to be my second main and a fluid option I take to high level raiding as well. This isn't just a whimsy "hueehuee I want to be a summoner -derps-".

I want to take this into serious raiding too and thus my issue.

I don't know how 21 points lost affects DPS, if it is significant enough I will allocate all my points to intelligence instead as I am confident enough of a healer that some trivial dent in my healing won't concern me. I healed through most coils as i103 before heavsnward patch in PUGs with confidence, I have no concern in that regard if the damage loss from the stat allocation is significant. I, obviously, cannot say the same about my confidence as a summoner.

Do you use food and pots while raiding? If not, then don't worry about it, because you aren't really caring about cutting edge dps.

If you do, then buy a buncha hymns and use it every time. They're so cheap now and i am capped on all 3 grand companies, I assume if you level alts at all or even just do your daily roulettes you will be fine.

I will say: INT is far more useful for SMN than MND is for SCH.

Healing is a joke if you are even remotely geared - so much so that many high end healers get more acc etc to do more dps rather than worry about healing requirements.

I play both in raids and INT for SMN is more useful.

If you really want to play both put them into INT, the loss of INT will hurt a SMN a lot more than the lost MND will hurt a SCH, the point reallocation items are dirt cheap now so just play with both until you find what you like.

My only concern on SCH isn't healing but that losing MND will hurt Cleric Stance DPS, if you don't switch back.

Exactly, I now have a few stacks of the stat changing items and will utilize them upon a whim!

it doesn't matter super much either way since 35 points is nothing at this point. I'd just leave them in int though because DPS can always do with more damage, whereas SCH is such at this point where +35 MND will...result in basically no appreciable difference.

just buy a stack of keepers hymns for whenever you swap those 35 points make a noticable difference theres literally no point not to since gc seals are worthless

35 points is like a free piece of gear, it's a noticeable, appreciable difference. No one should say 35 points is nothing. And 35 points in MND will have a very similar effect to SCH DPS as 35 points in INT to SMN, since SCH Cleric Stances for DPS, and SCH DPS can be a significant portion of party DPS.

The only reason it's not a serious commitment is because of how easy switching the points is.
