How old is my character?

I'm trying to figure out how old my character is. According to this lore thread with timelines...

She was 18 when she started her adventures in Eorzea back in the Six Astral Era, year 1572. (Launch of the 1.0 client.)
I'm trying to pinpoint the end of the era and how many years took place since the launch of the game's 1.0 client to the end of it. Then taking into account being a legacy character, being flung 5 years into the future to the day ARR first launched. And then yet again us progressing into another era for the launch and present day of Heavensward.
Its all very confusing, but I would say my characters actual age is somewhere around 30(?) (But her physical age is 5 years less thanks to being sent forward via Loisoux.)

Can someone help me out here?

actually, not really, you must have 1-2 years max between now and ARR start, if your character did begin with ARR he is 18+2, same for the legacy since we was send throught time. at best 18+3.

My OP states my character started in 1.0. And you forgot the 5 years between the end of 1.0 > ARR. There are lot more years in between then and current day Eorzea I think.

As far as the Calamity years, I tend to omit them from my character's age because we were technically "frozen in time" for 5 years. I guess it would be up to your character herself to deem if those years are accountable to her age. Up to you if you want imo.

ahh yeah, well it's a matter of viewpoint there, up to each to see how they want to add it or not. without it you are between 20-22 and with it's about 25-27. the trouble is to know how many years did pass while we was playing, the safest guess is to count 1 years for each irl years.
when i think like this is more 5 years spend since the game did come out in 2010, even if we must take out almost 1 years with the different down of the game.

but without a confirmation of SE it's quite hard to know for sure.

if i remember correctly it was like

Grand companies formed for first garlean invasion, garlean invasion fails due to head on collision with a cloud of dragons,grand companies dissolved leaving a surplus of trained soldiers, adventurer's guild formed, you arrive at your starter city looking for work. then either (roughly) 10 years pass or you spend a lot of time in the echo looking at stuff from 10 years ago (it wasn't very clear, you presumably meet child minfilia??? edit: if you started in uldah).then war with the garleans, then the battle of carteneau , then five years pass due to calamity where you are sent forward in time.

double edit: so a 1.0 character could be encroaching on their 30s if they were 18 and you were -actually- present at the events of uldahn plotline... I ...think?

and dont count the five year time skip

(the ten year thing comes from just approximating however long it took minfilia to grow up)

since your character did start with the 1.0, your character didn't have aged since you was send throught time, for you no time did pass. it's impossible to know how many time did pass in the V1 since the story did change in middle. the timeline was the one for the V1 before yoshida. but almost everything was changed, even the ascian. the safest guess is your character throught the V1 did age of 1-2 years (time of the v1) and 1-2 years for ARR.

when you travel throught time, your age don't change, then.... *shrugs* other point important, we don't know how old live most of the race from eorzea, then it don't have a lot of importance, no?

Hiya Vil, and thanks Silent. I agree that my character didn't physically age during those 5 years, but 5 years have passed non the less and was tacked onto her age since birth. That is how I see it anyways. @.@

Never get the in game character age thing... not like your character ages or grows weak with age.

I'm sure if I do a little more digging I can see just how long 1.0's lifespan was. Then adding on 5 years for aether stasis/teleportation, and then 1-2 years of ARR to present day Heavensward, it ranges like you said.
