This is really the only way I do hunts. If I encounter them or am in a zone and feel like doing when the zergfest arrives. But they can be so fun with a small team. Especially love the QQ after of some crazy arse pulled it with only 4 people and it's dead now shouts.Hunts are fine, the real problem is another: the only way (except daily mobs) to upgrade the current equip is to zerg hunts, and ranks A are NOT designed for 8+ players.
They should stop putting upgrades item into hunts, imho.
Done some A ranks, when randomly encountered, in the last month of 2.5 with 3 friends of mine and that was fun because there was ZERO zerg and some fight's mechanics were enjoyables.
My idea for an alternative Hunt system is taken right out of Final Fantasy XI, so I guess it'll never happen;

Remove A and S Ranks as they currently are. Have a system where you buy pop items for Allied Seals which will spawn the mobs instead. So for an example; You do your Mark Bills for a base set of Seals, buy a pop item for Nahn, kill Nahn and get some more Seals and a trophy item. Take that trophy to a Hunt NPC and you can trade it in, along with some more Seals, to get a pop item for Bonnacon.
I'm all for open world content, but Hunts are currently just glorified FATEs. When they're "required" they become a mindless zerg, which is simply the worst kind of content. When they're not and become unpopular, they're better since nobody cares if you lowman them, but they're still lacking. Force pops retains the open world element, but it means SE can balance them with specific numbers in mind. B Ranks for Mark Bills could be (and are) soloable. A Ranks like Nahn could be balanced around a Light Party. S Ranks like Bonnacon could be balanced around a Full Party. They could even add a couple extra tiers beyond that balanced around Alliances. Rewards could be better balanced out. Overall it just makes for a better system, IMO of course.
Only part of ZNMs I hated. Mark Bills make for a better replacement IMO.

Zeni stuff... man... that stuff...
Go around beat up mobs to a sliver of HP, then sleep them, TAKE PICTURES
So levequests... I said that in the first reply. All they have to do is add the items to the amber trader list.My idea for an alternative Hunt system is taken right out of Final Fantasy XI, so I guess it'll never happen;

What I'm suggestin in a more direct way is difficult max level leves that can be used as party to alliance content as an alternative method of obtaining hunt rewards. Something you can do with friends and the FC. Reason for everyone needing the leve to link to push more difficult encounters is to put a cap on how much it can be used. Thus not making it another unlimited source, but another alternative. Plus giving a use for those Leve allowances which, for many aafter levelling sit at 99 for a long time with no real reason to use them.
