    Melee DPS Numbers

Currently have a 51 DRG and the changes look really cool on paper.

However, I'm curious how the melee DPS classes are stacking up at the current end game. MNK has always interested me and NIN looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the replies in advance.

Nins are at around 1150, MNKs 1200 and DRGs can go up to 1250 DPS on a dummy.

    Thank you.

Do those numbers hold accurate in dungeons and Bismarck?

No, Dungeons, Bismarck, and Ravana have a lot of anti-melee mechanics so we'll be doing lower than on Dummy for these fights in particular.

Also, given that all the ranged classes are now casters, we have a rough time on all those fights also. :/

^ ITT People pretending that mechanics of a fight have never interfered with DPS before Heavensward.

Err... what? The OP asked if dummy numbers hold in dungeons and EX primals. The answer is no, just as it was before heavensward, and just as it will always be unless we get a boss that stands around doing nothing. No one is pretending that mechanics don't interfere with DPS (as they always do in every MMO)... did you even read this thread?

It seems Ninjas have it best in keeping dps numbers from Dummy to Boss Fights, Monks have it worse and Dragon's new skills make them have it the complete worst.

At least thats what I'm hearing from other dragoons. Getting Monk Positional and keeping optimal dps as monk is the same as it's ever been, nothing big has change for the class from heavensward except we got a lot more oGCDs to use in fights (Shoulder Tackle, Elixer Drive, Forbidden Chakra, Tornado Kick).

Once I started getting skill speed armor I've found DRG to get much better since it lets me essentially have the same rotation from 2.0, just with the new skills added in. Only current problem is I have alittle much SS, but with Raid and Estoric coming it'll probably be brought down to what it needs to be. So far I think I've been doing much better actually. That said I don't parse.

Kinda my fault for phrasing the question badly.

There are always anti-melee mechanics. What I should've asked was which melee transition dummy parses to actual fights the best. And of course which is pulling the best numbers in actual fights?
