I'm still gonna say 1 job and 1 job only: Sage (that can use both Holy and Meteor)
Where the heck that?

My friend recruitment codes (I put it here because in the thread it just gets out dated quickly by new posts):
My code(1): HVTRTX6P (Unused)
My code(2): RAJHW2J3 (Unused, but could be invalid at this point)
Anything new and Melee or Red Mage or Blue Mage/Vampire.
Now that I've got my Thavnairian Bustier, can I have Dancer please?
The one thing I would like to see in FF14 is and will always be the Gunblade Job.
FF14 tease players with all those NPCs that use Gunblades and specialize in gunblade abilities but never give us players the chance to use a Gunblade Job.
I don't care if it appears in 3.X, 4.0, 4.X or whenever. if SE can give FF14 a Gunblade Job whether it is a Tank Job or DPS Job I will be happy.
Assuming they don't break the Gunblade Job.
with the new jobs added we have
3 x STR jobs
3 x DEX jobs
3 x MND jobs
3 x VIT jobs
but only 2 INT jobs.
Just like they added NIN without expansion I think they should bring another DPS mage job in an update before the next expansion. I would like to see Red Mage, but with a twist. Maybe have it use magic hilts that produce spectral or elemental blades that use INT instead of STR for melee damage. It would be a melee mage job and I think would be a great way to fit Red Mage into FFXIV and give it its own flavor and usefulness.
Do you think a Blue Mage is feasible? I Mean honestly... The Original GW is like the only MMO To have a mechanic similar to a Blue Mage. "Capturing" Abilities and copying them is one of the iconic features of a Blue mage. But Simply unlocking them through story quests would leave it feeling like other classes. You would almost Have to leave their ability gain to Class quests in order to keep it balanced and to be frank, due to the lack of variety of "Builds" in FF there is no way you could just allow the Blue Mage to "Capture" and "Copy" Skills of enemies. TBH It would take away from the magic of a Blue Mage and leave it feeling like any other spell caster.
Anyway, all of the elitism is unwarranted. It isn't as if everyone here is PVPing to compete for openworld Raid bosses or anything like that. Heck, most of us don't even pvp.

I'm interested in alternative routes to each base class. It seems really silly for there to be only 1 advanced class to each base class with how it currently works. If they were entirely separate classes that didn't inherit from the base class it would make sense.
Marauder = Warrior / Samurai?
Gladiator = Paladin / Templar?
Puglist = Monk / Geomancer?
Lancer = Dragoon / Valkyrie
Archer = Bard / Beast Master
Rogue = Ninja / Thief
Conjurer = White Mage / Red Mage
Thaumaturge = Black Mage / Time Mage?
Arcanist = Summoner / Scholar
Edit: I also forgot that I'd like it to be viable to stay a base class. There should be some perks to simply being a rogue as opposed to a ninja. As it stands right now you absolutely need to become a ninja otherwise you are gimped. What about that end game rogue gear? What was even the point of being a rogue levels 1-30?

Actually I was toying with a similar list recently. Samurai wouldn't work for Marauder as samurai dont use axes. For rogue it will be either dancer or blue mage. If blue mage, pugilist gets dancer. Thaumaturge would most likely get puppet master.I'm interested in alternative routes to each base class. It's kinda funny you say that Vel cus I had the same idea a bit back.
When I see the idea of Redmage, what can we really expect them to do that's not already covered by black mages? Only thing I can think is giving them a Rapier and make them a melee type who uses Int as its main stat. The attacks being basically increased "elemental" swords. Say basic strike could be a flame sword, following the combo the fire grows on the sword allowing branching choices of perhaps a strong single strike or a "flare" burst from the sword tip for AOE. Just my idea on it to make it something other than a Blackmage/Whitemage.
