Bots running "The Keeper of the Lake"

I'm afraid that bots have started running "The Keeper of the Lake" dungeon, and I am wondering if other players have experienced this too. It's usually a ninja or dragoon character, but today I had one where the warrior was probably a bot. There are a number of things that lead me to believe that the characters are bot driven -

1 - Very very strange gear sets

The Ninja and Dragoon both had i115 gear that was added with the expansion. But then their accessories were all i90 Myth gear. Both the Ninja and the Dragoon were level synced, so I know they were over level 50 but they were new to the dungeon and achieved the "Mapping the realm" at the end of it. The strangest was the warrior, who had full Poetics gear, all i90 myth accessories, but who also had never run the dungeon and flagged the poetics bonus and the mapping achievement at the end.

2 - They make strange targeting decisions

Especially on the first and second bosses. The suspected bots will spend a very long time attacking the bombs that drop, even after another player has knocked them off to the edge. The ninja would chase down the bombs, start attacking them, then run around in circles for a bit before retargeting the boss and then spent all his TP throwing knives at it. The dragoon did something similar, except he just ran in circles around the healer and was never able to retarget the boss. On the second boss, all of the bot characters seem to break at the first set of adds and start autofollowing one of the DPS, and no longer contribute anything to the fight.

3 - They seem incapable of interacting with objects that don't have a permanent location

The keys that are dropped after the first boss, these bot characters are incapable of picking them up. The tank bot choose to run up and stand in front of the control panel that required the key, even though he was the only melee class and was standing in front of the key on the floor for 25 seconds before clumsily walking over to the panel. The dps bots choose to auto follow the healer after each fight and do not interact with anything. But when I say auto follow I don't mean traditional "I'm lazy" auto follow. I mean they stutter over to the healer and then make slow, stuttering circles near or around their character.

4 - Their DPS and tanking, goes without saying, is awful.

Dots are never applied, buffs are never applied, they never limit break. They have one or two attacks that they do over and over, until they die to aoe or lose targeting and start stuttering around the healer.

5 - The obvious - they never say a word, they never respond to party chat.

I can't say that I have run a Keeper of the Lake without a bot for the last several weeks. It's the only dungeon I ever get from the high level roulette. These bots are maybe running other dungeons too and I just never get into them, but I would beg a GM to que for a few Keeper of the Lake runs and see if they see what I do.

I guess the honeymoon could only last so long before the gold spammers get to HW areas. Only thing you can really do is try to kick any suspected bots and slow them down.

    Oh no.
    MAN THE DRAGON KILLERS!
No, but really. I haven't had any spam friend requests nor whispers lately, so maybe Zalera is O.K for now? I also haven't encountered any bots in dungeons. I pray I never do, either...

"Well, a lot of the people I know are going to be in pain. Not because I hate them, mind you, but because I can't aim."

My bet is lazy people paying the gil spammers to level their characters or something.

I don't think they ever really level your character once they have the account details they turn it into another bot account after striping all their sellable items.

What!? I'm so disillusioned now, next thing you know someone will tell me that all the gil they sell doesn't come from 100% handwork after all, despite their guarantee to the contrary.

Weird. I've only ever come across one bot but it was in a low level dungeon. It kept running ahead of me (I was the tank) and dying to mobs. After a period of time it would respawn, run back, and do the same thing again. It was hilarious.

Prior to that experience, I'd never seen a bot in a dungeon in any game, ever. Or if I did, then it wasn't as obvious. These bots in XIV are just bad.

I've seen one bot tank, ever, in a dungeon... it was Haukke NM, about a year and a half ago - the tank would sort of wander around lost and blow LB the millisecond it popped up. The DPS and I (on healer) were just plain "wtf? o_O". We got through with little hiccup, but....then again, Haukke NM isn't exactly hard.

    That, however, is downright obnoxious....
