None of these items can be gathered as a collectible, so the theory that you need these for red scrips is sort of out the window. Guess they could always patch that though.

Confirmed as patched. Rowena's is asking me for collectable aurum regis ore today.

They're also asking for adamantite ore and chysahl greens, so also confirmed that the folklore books aren't a hard requirement for red scrips.

Just used the Abalathia's Spine mining tome and it unlocked Red Alumen...and NOT Sun Mica. My miner is only 55 atm but i bought the tome with scrips from my botanist as this was the one I wanted the most once I hit 60 in a couple days. Anyone have this happen? Hoping that as I continue to level it will show up...or will just show up in the game despite not being in my log

Actually, the Coerthan mining book unlocked two Quarrying items, not one Quarrying and one Mining.

The Dravanian mining book did unlock one of each, however.

650 allows one-shotting to clear the node, possibly 647+. I had 646 and it took two shots. I added another t4 and it became one shot. My friend had 650 and was also able to one-shot the node.

Realize this is an old post, but I can confirm that 648 is also a 1 shot.

To follow up on that, I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but 650 perception is NOT quite enough to gather collectables via DE/Methodical x3. I can't remember the exact number, but 675 is enough for DE/Impulsive/(DE or SM)/Methodical/DE/Methodical. I don't yet know what the minimum is for double Impulsive.
