Overbloated Health Syndrome *(OHS)* in Heavensward!

I think this expansion suffers a great deal from Overbloated Health Syndrome (OHS) for short. You see, many dungeons and open world critters have way too much health. Whilst I like a challenge, mashing a punching bag for 3 minutes to me is not fun nore is it challenging.

Let me explain first what OHS is and means and its symptoms...

    OVERBLOATED HEALTH SYNDROME: Heavensward Exposure.
    • 12 hours post-exposure: Frustration.
    • 24 hours post-exposure: Aggravation and great hatred.
    • Later: Carpal tunnel.

    Heavensward:

    Open World:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 50%.
Increase the health of Hunt nameds, specifically "A" rank by 500%.
Increase damage of non-named, non-special monsters by 25%.
Add in Mechanics like Leap, Jump, Shout-Stun, Daze to monsters.
Increase experience gained from non-named, non-special monsters by 150%.

    Open World Fates:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 50%.
Reduce the health of regular boss monsters by 50%.
Increase experience gained from fate completion by 150%.

    Dungeon's in Heavensward:

    The Dusk Vigil:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 35%.
Increase Experience gained from nameds and monsters by 50%.

    Sohm Al:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 30%.
Increase Experience gained from nameds and monsters by 50%.

    The Aery:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 40%.
Increase Experience gained from nameds and monsters by 50%.

    The Vault:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 25%.
Increase Experience gained from nameds and monsters by 50%.

    The Great Gubal Library:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 30%.
Increase damage of non-named, non-special monsters by 15%.
Increase Experience gained from nameds and monsters by 50%.

    The Aetherochemical Research Facility
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 40%.
Increase damage of non-named, non-special monsters by 15%.
Increase Experience gained from nameds and monsters by 50%.

    Expert Dungeon's in Heavensward:

    Neverreap:
Reduce the health of non-named, non-special monsters by 65%.
Reduce the health of boss-nameds by 30%.
Increase damage of non-named, non-special monsters by 25%.

I actually like the increased health. Makes fights seem more like a fight rather than something that I just poke and it dies.

For a moment I thought you were talking about the players. I saw a 20K WAR once I hit 60 and my jaw kind of dropped.

Reminds me of forming parties in the Dunes in XI to down a Rabbit. Good times.

I think the point is to make the mobs in these new areas more dangerous? I think it's fine, but I wish they were a bit weaker in FATES.

After some point it reaches the "just die already" phase. Bigger health pools can be fun if the fight is engaging, but usually they're not on trash pulls.

I'm still soloing FATEs. In my sexy DPS tank stance of course, but I've been solo'ing FATEs now, without even calling my Chocobo. Imagine what I could d if Fligenhuhn was around!

I do not find the fights fun an engaging at all. They offer little to no challenge besides being frustratingly hard to kill. If they had more mechanics and much less HP I would be happier.

It's probably because the FATE is accounting for more people than they're are doing the actual FATE, but I feel sometimes some mobs have way too much HP. Unless it's intended, then it's fine. Still getting a feel for them though.

That's because we went from being 40 ilvls over what was needed for the fights to being just at the level needed for these dungeons.

Ah, I forgot about fates. Updating it with that now! Its because I got to 60 never doing even one. Lol.
