Been thinking about this and I was wondering about this whole side saddle position. Just thinking about it, and the relative position of limbs etc, it kind of seems that females of the shorter races would be even more likely to ride side saddle than the Amazonian Hyur Highlander females and Elezen. I must admit I find it really odd that all female characters do not have the option to ride side saddle on mounts that would normally be ridden either astride or side saddle - unicorns, ponies/hosts, Chocobos, and perhaps others.

Please SE, give all female characters the option to chose to sit sidesaddle or astride such mounts.

Does riding side saddle provide more comfort for the rider? I've never ridden a horse, let alone ridden one in that position so I can't comment on that, but from my minute of Google all I can see is that it was more elegant to ride like that, and would allow them to ride while wearing elegant clothing such as long dresses (I'd guess it would be easier on a Lalafell though). I don't imagine it would be very practical to ride side saddle on a chocobo though, but I'd say riding a chocobo would be as practical as riding an emu either way. If they do add this, I'd hope it's a permanent animation change and not similar to /cpose where they switch into it awkwardly.

...Please give all characters that option, not just female characters. A man in a robe looks just as silly sitting astride a mount as a woman would, and apart from a few pieces (spring skirt/dress, bridesmaid's dress, wedding outfit), I believe we have access to all the "mount-injuring" skirts and robes ^^;
And considering side-saddle riding was (afaik) "invented" to make riding possible while wearing skirts, instead of having to resort to litters or carriages, it makes equal sense to let guys in robes utilize it ^^;

Fine with me, I don't see why that would be a p[roblem for anyone, except for the usual gender bias in the real world. If guys in robes want to do it, great, go for it. I'd just like for Kosmos to be able to ride in a more elegant fashion than is currently the case.

I agree, all female characters should have the option to ride side-saddle so our dresses and long robes don't clip. Miq/Aur are not more likely to ride that way than Elezens though since Elezens are by far more elegant and cultured (and stuck up). Miq/Aur are more (or equally) likely to ride SS compared to femroes, however.

Yes, because males never wear long robes or skirts in this game. :| I'd ride sidesaddle in a heartbeat whenever I wear a skirt/robe to avoid cutting my mount in half.
