    Using only keyboard...while I don't know how flying behaves with 'normal' camera controls, it's very easy to do when using legacy type controls. Tilt camera a little down while moving forward, you get angular descent. Tilt camera a little up while moving forward, you get angular ascent. Legacy controls can be turned on from character configuration.

    That's what I get but can't get a "helicopter like" take off.

    Hold spacebar.

    And on PC, holding Z brings me back down.

    Much like other games with flying. Spacebar = take off, straight ascent, wow and EQ2: X = sit, descend.

    I've tried that, after the initial take off all I get is a 'bump' effect like it's trying to jump in mid-air, or suffering from severe hiccups. xD

    Bind a key to descend, I set it as X. By default Z takes you straight to ground.

    You may have set it to double jump so you would need to space bar and spacebar again, then hold.

    Honestly, I just wish there was an option to set it so you don't auto land when you get close to the ground. I like to fly low at times, and get annoyed when I land and suddenly drop to less than half my speed and have to take off again. If there IS an option to change this, I've clearly missed it in the settings menu.....
