Airship downgrade?

or am i too pessimistic?
so im pretty ok with the things they have and the things that need waiting & work. I was attracted to FFonlines (or any square game for that matter) because Square has one of the most original and detailed designs out of any other mmo's that i seen. i know this cant be compared to XI but from the beautiful graphics i thought the designs would be more ...i guess more well thought out?.... ;x

The past airships seem to have alot of detail while the XIV one seems like huge patches of...shapes stuck together

Doesn't matter to me much since you can't actually ride them, its just instant transport. Maybe I'll care when we can ride them.

They fit with the aesthetic and lore of the world. We've seen much bigger ones anyway, except they belong to the Garlean Empire. Maybe once we get through that whole story arc we'll see some more grand airships.

They sure make more sense than FFXI's version, even if they are less technical. Just tell everyone to keep their blades sheathed and arrows quivered and maybe we'll survive.

no ones saying add rocket boosters, we're talking about the details of the work in comparison to past ones and the current citizen made items

well.as much as we know we know nothing.
the airships we get with 1.19 seem for transportation between city states only.
there might aswell be airships for battle if that is ever planned for content/story/lore, just as the garlean empire has a whole airship fleet, containing small up to huge airships.

Well i know you cant ride they...YET! but they will be adding rideable airships....but i agree with OP the FFXIV doesnt have but a single deck while the others are like mansions with wings!

It's going to be temporarily cutscene transport, what part of that do you people not get?

I think they look great. They are sized more like a bus or some other type of public transportation like these should be, since they aren't warships.
