    Yea, all those trials and raids with more than one target...you don't see LB3 unless in a full party.

    I simply want to see more variety in LBs.

    I would think melee would all be clamouring for this. You do more dps when you're not casting LB you know. And its not like you won't use melee LB.

    Your raid could switch it up! Maybe use bard one day and summoner the next.

    I second the idea of individual limit breaks though, but we'd have to be careful that its not like, oh its 5 minutes in, everyone pop their lb's hurr durr and noone can see anything.

    I'd welcome the change if t means I wouldn't have to do the LB anymore.
    Since 3.0 it's really a guaranteed GL3 loss if you use a LB3 as Monk even with Perfect Balance. o_O
    Heck, I have to use perfect balance after using LB2 now...

    There are plenty of situations. Your party just has to know them o.o

    Any dungeon situation where you can pull a massive amount of mobs, i'd prefer the tank grab as many as possible, and the BRD/BLM just nuke them. It's way better than a measly 4k-ish single target damage to a boss. Especially since most melees (for SOME reason) don't decide to LB the boss until it's at 2% and 50% of the LB's damage will be lost.

    And in many fights, unless you're struggling, bosses die way before you can even get LB2.

    tl;dr different damage on LBs allows different levels of usage. AoE limit break has plenty of valid usage outside Ifrit EX. It's all over coil and the dungeons.

    I'm talking about LB3. The one with the job specific animation. I just want to be able to see mine.

    If caster and ranged LB 3 was spread out, it'd be used even less as it'd actually be rather useless. Sure, it'd be useful in hitting a target without being in deadly close range, but that's never been much of an issue. Casters use a location targeting AoE, meaning it can miss. So, naturally a melee LB would always be preferred.

    The advantage of the current system is taking out groups and when a boss has adds. Since it's not spread out, it does significantly more damage in total. Removing that feature causes the ranged LBs to be used in even less situations. Variety is the spice of life, but trying to make it make sense just kills the edge some get.

    They said they would never give players their own LB because LBs should reward the group for fine play. Besides, if every player had their own LB, they would have to make content harder to adjust for multiple LB's.

    Except those lucky DF parties that do not have a melee DPS to use the "Real LB".

    I support the OPs request.
    In fact, set it up much like Ricochet works on a MCH;
    Deals 100 potency to primary target, then 300 potency split between all nearby targets.
    If only one target is within the radius of the effect, the full 400 potency is dealt to the one target.

    Therefore, Ranged LBs are as strong as Melee LBs but ONLY when striking a single target.
