Tanks can help make up for it (Especially Warriors right now. Dat Warrior) but honestly, this is one of the biggest issues most parties have when doing Bismark - the DPS check.

The thing is, the Warrior will always put out more DPS then a Paladin. However, you should still be able to clear the DPS check with 2 Paladins in Shield Oath. Ofcourse it's possible to equip a strength build and go Sword Oath, but by doing so you will also increase the damage you take and add to the strain for healers to keep them alive. In order to get through the DPS checks, everyone has to be most out of their classes that's true. But, i don't think people should rely on a Paladin's dps to get through the DPS check. My "fear" would be that when parties are not getting through the DPS check, tanks will have to switch to Warrior just to get through. That would not be good for people running the duty through the DF (since it will be a likely scenario that will not be grouped with a warrior as tank).

Don't misudnerstand - I don't think that Tanks /should/ have to make up for weak DPS. I had that in a static and it -enraged- me.

But what I was pointing out to the person that was going back-and-forth with me was simply that the person who posted that they were i179... was only ONE person. A group working together can make up for the weakest factor, but a single GOOD player can't make up for an entire party being bad. Likewise, my WAR can match some DPS, but I'm not gonna be able to do it alone, no matter how much DPS I do.

I do agree with you... I hope people don't start spamming WAR's, or trying to make PLD/DRK's feel obsolete. Because that'll just get WAR's nerfed, and imo? We're in a good position right now as what we're meant to be - a heavy damage tank with good spikes of mitigation and a beefy HP pool for survivability.

While I don't agree with the OP's original notion, being forced to skip cut scenes, or to read up on story dungeons is just sad.

Why should people have a worse experience just because they got to the content a few days/weeks/months later?

Forgive me, but why did you quote me? I specifically stated in my post that I will never force someone to skip cutscenes in combat. And honestly, the 50-60 dungouns are easy enough that you don't need to read for them. All mechanics are implied, except maybe one or two outliers. But none of them that I've seen are really whipeable.

Regardless, I don't disagree. you should NEVER be forced to skip cutscenes. As for reading up on story dungouns... people aren't going to be que'ing those unless they're fishing for first timers atm, or they are helping their friend. I think most people are going in with a pretty open mind. But the two dungouns that come after? Feel free to read on them if you want. The two Extremes/The raids when they come out? It is more polite to read for the fights in those scenarios.

IL179 and can't get past DPS checks?

Well, kinda made my day that! xD... But, indeed as some others have pointed out, your ilevel is nothing if the party su***.

I'm kind of glad I'm now in a static, we cleared Bismark so easily.. And Ravana also after just two days trying. Hive weapons are cool and I hope will be of utility for alexander.

IL179 and can't get past DPS checks?

We did it with average ilvl of under 160. I tanked it at 151 PLD as our member whos levelling DRK isn't at 60 yet. Only 3 members where in full Law, and not fully upgraded. BLM, 1xBRD and WAR. 2x BRDS, 1x BLM 1x DRG.

Problem is many are used to heavily over-gearing content when it gets released due to it being a lower ILVL requirement than the previous tomestone ilvl.

Nope. It'd be disrespectful to the group of people who I regularly play with to claim so. That said, they were similarly geared too at the time. We just know our rotations and job nuances better than the average player you'd get through PF.

This is very true but there are the rude ppl who demand you watch youtube or skip cuts since they have done and seen it already and some times the bad outweigh the good sadly .But yes i see what you all are saying no rush it's not going anyplace

While I understand watching cutscenes, personally I don't care if people do as I wait anyways, I do not understand why people wouldn't watch a guide. Watching a cutscene does little to inconvenience someone, but dying mid fight and causing a wipe, inconveniences everyone. It wastes their time and time in a subscription based MMO is important. Just my 2 cents.
