I as much as everyone else wants a chocobo mount, but im a little concerned as to why nothing has been mentioned about mounts in months.

That was what i was curious about too, thus i made this thread hoping the DEV will notice this.

Frankly, i am too lazy to walk in this game, wasting a lot of time + have to watch the repeated scene again and again >.< . I really hope i have a mount to save my time so i can concentrate on more important things instead of wasting most of my time walking. (Sometimes i feel embarrase to call my in-game friends to help me to do leve or grinding too due to i am worried they have to waste a lot of time to walk to my location. The anima is like Gold in real life, too damn precious)

Hopefully after public company system and more adjustments, DEV will start to look into mount system.

P/S The DOL skills can make walking speed faster, but still, nothing can beat a mount....and i am more interest to breed a chocobo than doing boring DOL jobs >.<

Anyway, there are tons of MMORPG in the market and a lot of them have more than one mounts. Why adding more mount = basically make it more like WOW? Really, they are many other games with many mount types, not only WOW.

People should start to open their eyes and realize this world has more than one MMORPG, don't make it sound like adding a mail box = WOW, adding more mounts = WOW, adding jumping = WOW, etc. These things like jumping, more mounts, mailbox, are not WOW's copyrights. Even if it is the same thing, but due to the game is difference, we can make it very difference by using our imagination.

It's not using imagination if FFXIV decides to do what every other MMO is doing.
And the only reason I used WOW as the "make it more like" is because it's a MMO that majority of the MMO audience is familiar with.

Don't put words into my mouth, i never said it has to have more mounts. I was suggesting various possibilities for the mount system. Read back my posts, it could be adding more mounts (some suggested dragon, vehicles), or chocobos only but with more choices. (some suggested to have armour system for chocobos)

I don't agree with you regarding the imagination part. Every MMORPG has a battle system, FFXIV has it too, so does that means it has no imagination? NO. It merely depends on how you implement the same thing differencely using your imagination, the outcome could be better or more innovatively than the existing one. Same as mount system, you can have more mounts but totally difference from WOW or any other MMORPG with outstanding/gorgeous system that a lot better/innovative than WOW or other games.

Final Fantasy has never had living ground mounts outside of Chocobos, and the only living airborne mounts have been dragons, outside of living mounts, it's always been vehicles. The hover craft, airship, boat, canoe, and so forth.
Riding my flaming horse back home so I can feed my lizard just isn't Final Fantasy.

as pretty much everyone is saying, chocobo's only, the reason is that not adding other mounts is that it takes away from the FF world, Only other mounts I can see possibly are something like maybe a motorbike like Cloud had or like someone said, that hovercraft thing from FF4.

but I wouldn't mind some sort of raising-system like was in FFXI, but something that gives more of a benefit, please? I realize it was made this way so that if you didn't do it you werent penalized, but in FFXI I didn't feel motivated to do it at all. Like how about something more along the lines of what was in FF7 where it grants you something useful but it takes a good deal of effort.

And as far as pets go only for Beastmaster and I really don't want to see pets for Summoner this time around, just have the summons come out to do their classic attack, but I know some people want them to have their pets and some don't. It was just implemented too horribly in FFXI and I always loved the way it was in some of the other FF games.

But they could add wow-esque vanity pets that of FF style. A baby chocobo that follows you around or something?
